I think everyone in his place would have done the same. He is yet to receive another 20 million in salary from FC Barcelona for the remaining 30 months of his contract. That's the ugly truth. No club on planet Earth is willing to pay such wage for this guy. His agent is likely negotiating a loan deal trying to convince Barcelona to pay half of his salary while Arda plays in Turkey.

Some of this salary should come from Bartomeu own pocket and bonuses. This transfer was made to influence the presidential election, Bartomeu could have signed him before or after the election, the club just won the treble and not desperate for players. He wanted to close the deal at all costs during the election hence Arda's transfer fee and salary was high.
