Problem is not his laziness. Plenty of players in la Liga are lazy or have been lazy but their brilliance shone through - like Francisco Yeste, Valeron, Tsiartas etc
Problem with Arda was a lack of talent (never mentally fast enough) - coupled with laziness - coupled with arrogance. Simeone utilised Arda superbly - especially Arda's ability to shield the ball on the break. However even at Atletico he was glued to the bench for large periods.
His greatest strength has always been how he was marketed. The Turks and later some important international journalists all bought in to Arda's mystique.
