Sampaoli is Messi's last chance for a trophy/trophies with Argentina.

AFA ruined Messis international career. Fucking amateurs. First Pekerman puts mother fucking Julio Cruz instead of Messi as sub against Germany, proceeds to lose a tie.

Then Julio Grondona appoints drugged out Maradona for his first job in bid lead them to WC win. He proceeds to lead them to embarrassment that was WC2010. In the end, while Sabella did everything he could in 2014, he did one thing wrong, he took Palacio with them instead of Tevez. That Messi pass in 88th minute after dribbling two Germans would be behind the net had Tevez been there. Hell, if piece of turd was there the chances would be better.

Now Messi has to play under a guy who said he wants him to have ball less then optimal  I watched EVERY Argentina game there was in last 10 years, and one thing is for certain. These idiots will rather play hero ball then look up and pass a fucking ball. To make matters worse, even Mourinho said it to whole world, just give the man a ball and run. He will find you, you just take care of scoring a goal without having defender marking you tightly since thats already been taken care of.

Just watch tomorrow, fucking Di Maria will lose 58237 balls he loses on average with international squad. Higuain will bottle it, and Messi will ask for a ball but won't see one.

Fuck me if it wouldn't have been better if he took Spanish passport and citizenship and just won the fucking thing.

/rant over. Hopefully they prove me wrong tomorrow.

BTW don't want to see Aguero anywhere near the 1st 11 when Dyabala is healthy.

the question shouldn't be: "why has messi never won anything with argentina?", instead the question should be "why hasn't argentina won anything recently despite having messi?"

Messi also played a part in it. He was in a terrible physical condition at the WC and did not handle himself well before that. After the tournament he completely changed his diet and got into the best physical shape of his life which he is still in. A healthy and fully fit Messi could have made the difference in that close WC final.
The whole tournament was like that anyway. Some moments of individual brilliance but very quiet over the course of 90 minutes.

I think he still managed to perform well and decide games but he was not the outstanding player he usually is week in and week out.

The Copa last year was different. Better Messi but bad coach which caused worse performances of the team. Unfortunately Sabella is not the coach anymore but Tata who was and is doing awful.

Agree. But for that to happen they should fail really hard in Copa America so Tata will be gone and Sampaoli can take over before WC. That's if he won't get a job at some good European club before if that's what he wants.

Argentina need something like this and ALL the players GOT TO work hard defensively. Only Messi can be allowed to walk around.

The likes of Aguero, Higuain and Di Maria(in the attack) have been a part of that trio for such a long time and more often than not, disappointed. Argentina need something fresh.

With ADM in the MF, Messi might not have to drop down deep all the time to get the ball and Dybala and Correa are very tricky players that aren't totally brain dead like the likes of Lavezzi either.

And please, get that fraud Rojo out of the team. Anyone who thinks that hack is any good should go and watch themselves in the mirror.

"NOT ROJO". Brilliant.

Great ideas too. Something needs to be done, because how it is right now, Messi won't ever win anything with Argentina.

Rojo has completely accepted LVG philosophy, but he was also molded in that PL "way" for extra effect. I like that one DONAK. Obviously with Biglia and Banega Argentina doesnt have enough technical ability to stay on the ball in MF, whike with Kun and ADM in attack they tend not to run. Put ADM in MF, get Kun the fuck out and put Correa on his place. The boy is Simeones player after all...Then wait for Dyabala to finally get healthy and of course get that fraud Tata out as well.

it is depressing to see Messi play in the Argentina team. Not fun to watch like watching Barcelona. No midfield. Still, they won against a very intense and physical Chilean team.

Messi needs to put his foot down, demand for Martino to be sacked and the whole team to play to serve him as a team rather than try to be a hero.

This is what the Argies should come with imo.

Rulli is probably their best GK at the moment and he's young, getting playtime - no problem.
Zabaleta is well, Zabaleta. Noone better than him, but Roncaglia could play there if necessary.
The CB pair is an interesting one, all of them are pretty much the fast guys, but no organizer there - maybe Musacchio could do that, if he properly comes back from his injury.
LB is a mess, Rojo is a mess most of the time, Orban is one of the few LBs I've seen perform well but that was last year - now he's at Levante. Silva could be brought up by NT imo.

Lanzini is the man West Ham fans compare to Modric in a way, say he can build the games - should give him a chance. Di Maria needs to be in midfield, recall his RM days.
Masche is set for that DM spot, buy maybe use him as a CB and used Augusto/Kranevitter as DM?

Messi doesn't work with Agüero, Tevez or whoever I've seen there. Need to try something new - Dybala and Correa could do the trick. If not, maybe Icardi could do something.

Indeed. They want him to be their focal point until they don't, then use him as a decoy (?), then drop him deeper and deeper, all the while offering next to no support for the guy. In fact, one could make an argument that the last time Messi was complemented well was during the Olympics eight years ago.
