Argentina

Most of the players listed there are squad players. The starters except for Messi and Acuna are rested.

Ah, makes sense.
Didn't watch copa yet, seemed like the group stage was too meaningless. Will have to familiarize with the team in the knockouts, but looking at the squad right now, it's still striking what Argentina has become...
I am sure they are good players, but...

They're not that bad tbh. They don't have a lot of big names at the moment but many of them have room to grow.
Usually playing well the first half and then switching off the next.

Emi Martinez, Romero, Paredes, De Paul and Messi are the core. Martinez and Romero are really solid in defence.

RB spot has been a question mark but seems like Molina has made it his. Been pretty good so far.
Good competition at LB with Acuna and Tagliafico, both at more or less the same level but different types of players.

Then you have the bigger names that can be very good or not providing anything at all: Lo Celso, Di Maria, Papu Gomez, Lautaro Martinez. Aguero is there as well but been a while since he was very good for Argentina.

Thanks, I'll unironically keep your opinion on these players for when I start to stay up and watch their games.
What about Lisandro, I see he is one of two outfield players not getting minutes yet?

I only saw him in the first friendly vs Chile where he played 45 min. I don't know really, can't say much about him.
Looks like Scaloni prefers Romero, Otamendi, Pezzella and Martinez Quarta to him. Not highly rated in other words. Could be lack of experience or his physique.

Me and the people that I've seen think Lisandro should be the other CB next to Romero, but Scaloni is going for players who has 'more' international experience and who is taller. Hopefully after the Copa, Lisandro will get more minutes.

Honestly, having more experience means nothing to me if the performance does not back it up. Romero is a very good example of that having made his debut like 4 games ago.

Regarding Lisandro, I am sure you're both aware of the Barcelona rumours...
I thought he'd fit very well, but only based on stats and descriptions, would be nice to see him here to form a better opinion on him.

He's one of the CBs besides De Ligt who I want here as Lisandro can play well in both CB and DM.

Also for a rumored 25 million, it's a transfer that I am willing to go for but with the club's financial situation and the fact that we have a plethora of CBs, low chance that a move will happen imo.

Think he would fit in well as a pairing with Araujo.

Here's an article of a player analysis of Lisandro before he went to Ajax if you're interested.

Thanks, nice article, and he still looks interesting.
Although 80% pass completion that is mentioned is very low for a CB playing for Barcelona, I see that he is close to 90% in the last 365 days (link below).
It's of course nice to have a CB with the ability to play decisive balls though, then it would be up to the manager to tweak his risk taking...

A few small Twecks & this team could make some noise in the WC, surely icardi offers more than Martinez, yes I know the issues.

Also that RB was a beast today along with de Paul.

I hate Lautaro, but Icardi is a complete donkey.

Icardi only useful in the box. Otherwise nothing player.

Yep.

He's a classical #9 that does fuck all unless he gets fed in the box. Doesn't press either. The guy had me fooled earlier when he was scoring a lot of goals for Inter although a lot of them were penalties.
