It was a fantastic dive, although he exaggerated it a bit too much. But then again, at such a big occasion it is impressive to see an athlete sacrifice substance for artistic merit. He took a risk, and pulled off one of history's greatest dives.

To be COMPLETELY UNBIASED, it's a boneheaded play by Marquez. Can't believe the media is so focused on this. He puts his foot through the player, Robben's already moving to that side before Marquez puts his foot there. Why the hell would you put your foot across the player in the 91st minute, especially if it's Robben? Not that controversial of a call.


It doesn't even matter if Marquez's foot hits Robben's foot. Simply stepping through him is like asking the ref to give the pen.

U mean Robben's rection? Sure he milks it to convince the ref, but doesn't mean Marquez isn't comitting a foul there. A natural reaction to that foul could be different. Still doesn't make that less of a foul.

Robben was looking for it & Rafa fell like a 20 year old inexperienced player... of course Robben always needs to fly in the sky from any touch

The first part was a flop; the second part, Robben did hit the defenders foot, but didn't have control of the ball, it had already been tackled. The funny thing is that had he not flopped the first time, he had a good chance of getting past both of them.

What's with the crying? It was a penalty every day of the week, whether milked or not. Rafa had it coming, diving into tackles like that all game.
