Lol I forgot Arsenal still had to play. Solid win though. You guys will need to be less Alexis dependant next season.

I watched some of the game, nice to see Jack Wilshere back, you could see he was glad to be back, always wanting the ball

Hopefully we buy a DM in the summer to rotate with Coquelin, and maybe a striker if a world class one becomes available.

We're definitely making progress, but there are still things that need to change. I don't think we'll really be a title threat until we break that mental block against Chelsea and United.

Wilshere should be used as a holding midfielder, it's he only position he'll excel in. If he carries on playing further forward he'll just keep getting crocked.

I don't tnink Wilshere is good enough full stop. I agree with Robbie on what they need to add in the summer.

In what sense? He's just an outlet. He's never great for us in terms of building our chances or general team fluidity. Ozil/Ramsey/Giroud/Cazorla have the team cohesion/wavelength, Sanchez (similarly to Theo) is there to convert the chances.

If you mean just that, relying less on him for goals and look for somebody else to convert the goals, then I agree.

To put us in the Elite category, or have a real chance of winning a title, we need a better GK/FB and Striker.

GK/ST are vital. The dream is Cavani/Cech.

Rumours that we're interested in Vidal? Not a priority signing... but I'd be happy with that.

Wilshere/Vidal/Ramsey would be a class trio. Elegance and energy.

Arse beat relegation fodder in the FA Cup final and are now confident enough to target the league.

The Community Shield should be fun, though.

You can only beat what's in front of you. We beat United at Old Trafford on the way to the final, and Chelsea conceded four goals to Bradford City (a league one club) at Stamford Bridge. Liverpool lost to the same Aston Villa team in the semi-finals

What's your opinion on Ozil's second half of the season? I want to hear a proper, informed opinion, not idiotic Facebook people telling me I don't know anything about football because I said his league form has been very lacking over the 2 years he's been at Arse. Most of them had nothing better to say than to diss Chelsea or my hair.

Ozil is one of those players that makes football worth watching. Sometimes he does some unreal things with the ball, like a no-look volleyed backpass, or a threaded pass through a crowd of opposing players to find Giroud like a needle in a haystack. I know he gets a lot of shit for being "anonymous", but we're much worse without him in the team. If Coquelin is the player who gives us midfield steel and backbone, then Ozil is the one who gives us fluidity. He makes the initial passes that become goals, every time. Hopefully he gets back the confidence he had at Madrid, and goes back to being one of the best midfielders in the world.

He had a few injuries (and one long one midseason), so it's hard to judge how his 2nd half has been. It's clear that he's capable of so much more, and we'll finally see that now that he gets a summer without a tournament and an injury-free preseason in a settled squad.

Here's a good compilation of what he's been like this season:
