Vidal is a strange yet effective player.
He will have his dodgy moments on the ball depending on the teams he faces, but he's not that terrible like Paulinho was with it and can make some excellent passes himself as well. What sets him apart from Rakitic is both have a number of flaws with the ball, but Vidal's mobility and energy alone is much better than Rakitic and has aged better than the Croat.
Sure he's getting old but I think that is the biggest reason why Vidal is clearly ahead of Rakitic in the pecking order. Even for his flaws on the ball he still has stuff in the tank that is more useful to use than the likes of Rakitic.
