He was recorded and it was a very embarassing audio. He was forgiven by the coach, stayed in the team and Chile went on to win the cup, so all was forgotten.

He’s not the brightest light bulb, but you’re not buying him for his brains or moral principles. He is brilliant on the pitch and that is where he will shine.

What does "team option" mean? The Vidal to Inter transfer saga always talked about Vidal opting to extend his contract, as it was not seen as something Bayern could force him to do.

It is said there is a team option, which means he is under contract for next 2 years unless Bayern decide otherwise. many clubs (especially Manu) put this clause in their players and people keep misreading them as future free agents. It is a smart thing to do and we should start doing it.
Again, I myself don't see it "suspiciously low" but people are used for Barca to overpay, Bayern to do great deals and initial rumors was 30M

Edit: Inter deal was also rumored to be their usual "loan+ buy option"

Can you give a credible source to it? All the Inter transfer rumors I've seen point out that Vidal has to agree to it, not something Bayern could do themselves.

It’s only a few years ago but the market prices have changed drastically from then.. Van Dijk for 85m euros etc

It's the way Bayern has been operating in the market. If clubs want to sign players that they are willing to sell they will give them very reasonable deals on them so in the future if Bayern wants to make a purchase from the other club they will in return be able to get decent deals.

Kroos to Madrid and then James to Bayern, both for very good fees is an example of that.

Bayern clearly want to have no part in buying players at market valuation in this current market.

Makes sense. But, you can't dominate the market that way. The club with the highest bid gets the player not with the better relations, albeit a few exceptions.

Nowadays, sincerity is secondary, money is what matters the most.
