I saw some tears, even at half time. Alba esque, unusual for fighter Cholo. Maybe he's tired of it all. He made that club relevant in Spain and Europe which makes him an eternal legend already, don't know what he's pushing for anymore.

Don't think he ever said anything bad about Barca and as you said often praised us and ofc also loved Messi as an Argentinian (at the same time hated playing against him though as every coach in the world I guess, lol). Been our rival for more than a decade and usually on the losing side and while things often got heated on the pitch he stayed professional and respectful outside. Unlike that butthurt cunt Mou for example.

He probably took the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" approach. While institutional relations between both clubs had up and downs (but that's more on the higher instances rather than coaches or players) I always considered Atleti as a rival but also a friendly club. Most people don't like Cholo's style (fair enough) but I have nothing but respect for this man and what he has done. He turned La Liga into a better and more competitive league and that was needed especially with another traditional big club like Valencia mostly struggling on and off the pitch for pretty much the last decade except those two good seasons under Marcelino when Lim most likely got lucky to hire a good coach but ofc was stupid to not keep him longterm.

I agree with the post about Cholo. Don't like his playing style but everything else about his story with Atleti is great, a shame we don't have more stories like this in todays modern sport. I hope he stays for a lot more years, maybe even longer than SAF at United. If anybody can do it, it's Cholo. The club and the fans love him, he has all the power at the club, he has a huge salary and it doesn't seem he really wants to go elsewhere.

According to Matteo Moretto they plan to sign Cuti Romero, Bentancur, another CB, LB and possibly two strikers to replace Griezmann and Correa.

- Cuti Romero
- Another CB: Facundo Medina
- Left Back: Julio Soler
- CM: Enzo Fernandez
- Forward 1: Garnacho
- Forward 2: Santi Castro
