We've made an offer for that Monaco are happy with. It is now up to the player to decide as he has many offers. :smile160:

I hope he sees the light and joins us! Aurelien this summer and Jude in 2023..............

Other clubs like Liverpool, City, even Madrid are way more pragmatic on the timing to exchange players. We remain dogmatic that the Golden generation is the best way and can still work.

Neither City nor Liverpool had players of that stature to be fair. And Bayern+Real still heavily depend on their legendary core. Perez made some ruthless decisions though, but pound for pound they still have roughly the same amount of veterans like us... with very mixed results in the last few years as well.

You already have fabinho tho????

Yes but Tchouameni can play either as a 6 or an 8. We need a back up for Fab in that role and we need a long term replacement for Hendo too. So Tchouameni fits the bill.

It also allows more flexibility in formation as we could then play a 4231. I hope we sign him as he's got the physicality, technical ability, energy and crucially tactical acumen.

He's basically a much younger version of Gini but more developed at his age then Gini was at that age too.

Good point. It remains to be seen how they transition from Salah and Mane, although Diaz looks an astute start as well as Jota for Firmino.

They have had their share of underwelming signings too though so nothing's perfect. Keita in midfield, Minamino upfront and even Thiago until this season.

Keita doing well now. Minamino came clutch in our Carabao triumph. Thiago and Keita were hindered by injuries before this.

Think City would be crazy to pass him up for their midfield. Fernandinho turned 37 and with Rodri being undroppable for Pep's City, somebody like Aurelien can learn from some of the best players in the world and play in a league which would set him up for success. City are already all but confirmed to get Haaland, and with the money they got from us for Ferran, they could should have no problem spending it on a player who could play for 10+ years.

Something like

Ederson
Walker Stones Dias Cancelo
Silva Rodri Tchouameni
De Bruyne
Mahrez Haaland

or
Ederson
Walker Stones Dias
De Bruyne Rodri Tchouameni Cancelo
Mahrez Haaland Silva

We must go for him, absolutely class of a player... Don't even want to imagine him going to Madrid with Camavinga

I don't see the fit to Klopp's system tbo
A young promising talent like him can't be content with benchwarming for Fabinho, nor would it make sense for Pool to pay a lot to get him just for their bench.
Then he is not that good as 8, or let's say playing the position at least with the positional mobility Hendo Thiago and Keita play it, drifting out very wide at times.

Besides, he is very different from Bellingham, who IMO is top talent, and could be Hendo's ideal successor next summer.

Has Liverpool after all the money to buy both OR getting him means Bellingham transfer is shelved?

Have not seen a single credible report linking him closely to Liverpool so far.
