Suarez and Dembele have absolutely zero chemistry.

We bossed this half easily, but we're not clicking in the final third.

Midfield is doing fin-ish, the problem is the attack, namely Dembele. He is shit. No off-the ball movement, no running in behind, no combinations, no chance creation through passing, even his dribling ends in nothing. Look at the run took at the Dembele chance. Dembele never runs like that.

Players need to build some chemistry. Not all too bad for pre-season against Napoli.

So far most frustrating has been Suarez.

Suarez and Dembele have absolutely zero chemistry.

Both are frustrating in their own way. Messi and Griezmann are the most consistent with their touch, dribble, and pass. Suarez can score good goals, but his touch is erratic, and Dembele is regularly missing passes even Lingard is expected to make.

Suarez should not be a starter anymore. Dembele has not been that great but is better than Suarez. An attack of messi, griezmann and dembele is needed.
Frenkie by far the best player on the pitch.

Good things:
Midfield was faster
Our pressing without the ball has been good

Bad things:
Attack very meh
Midfield nonexistant in the attacking third. They were moving fluidly in the centre of the pitch, but no one was able to do anything meaningfull (assist, shoot, runs into the box) around the box.

We had only one clear chance (Griezmann).
Dembele's solo run and a weak shot straight at a keeper.
And Dembele's blocked shot.

We are lacking:
1. Attack
2. Shots and goals
3. And 1-2 players to add some connection between midfield and attack (former Iniesta, Cou, Rafinha, Rakitic).

I counted at least 3 very good chances. Griezmann, and Dembele two times.

Dembele doesn't seem like the player that will improve on his flaws. His iq being his biggest weakness.

Given that Dembele is a lost case anyways, why don’t we try and see if he can play as a striker #9 .. maybe just maybe there is something to explore there

I thought Dembele was good. Mistakes still but the guy is dangerous. The most dangerous from Barca.

get ready to see a complete overhaul of the team in the 2nd half with EV's sweetheart, Rakitic, subbed in first.

Nah, can only play winger. It is what it is, he'll probably not make it here as a sure starter, but will be useful in his own way, like he was last season. Scored several goals which brought us important points in the first half of the season, often when we were in a losing position.

De Jong has been great, just so calm and composed when he gets the ball.

Griezmann's touches and passes are exquisite. Very clever, and executed reliably. He is wasted that far on the wing though. Not even operating in the half spaces, why is hugging the touchline like an old-fashioned winger? We have Alba for the width.

Frenkie is an upgrade over Busi at the DM position. Does everything right, and sound defensively. Would like to see him at LCM as well.
