The midfield looks ok, I don't think it's the 1st time those 3 play together.

Agreed, it's just that some anxious Cules find it weak. But Xavi (even now) Budger and Rafinha are not bad players at all. Moreover Iniesta is not 24 anymore, and Rakitic runs himself to the ground against Bayern. Resting those guys is essential.

It's not a power-play. LE understands that the motor of this team is the front 3. He has wiggle room in every other position, but he knows this team is the front 3 and if he wants to maximize his chances he need to play them.
