Barca Transfers and Rumors

If Valverde is the new coach we'll probably play with his 4-2-3-1 formation which will let Messi play in the middle behind Suarez and just in front of Busquets and Rakitic. It'd be Neymar on the left and a new signing on the right.

That is about the only way it can go.

As much as I love Messi it is frustrating at times how much the rest of the team have to cover for his lack of defending and work rate. It throws the rest of team off balance a bit.

Rakitic is not Barca first 11 material IMHO

He is but he needs to be in an attacking role not doing donkey defensive work just cause others don't track back and defend.

That is about the only way it can go.

With Messi either keep him as false nine or a deep number 10.

If we can get a super creative midfielder and then have Messi behind Suarez he will be in Goat scoring mode like 2014.

Not sure about Sarri here tbh, good coach but he isn't a world class one "yet" and it is difficult to warrant that when he is coming from Calcio tbh
I like Setien,he is good and plays beautiful football. But he is kind of same level as Valverde. We have to accept that having history in the club is sort of advantage and my point is you have to be on totally another level to be appointed here without that history (otherwise you won't have same support from media and therefore the board and will be difficult to earn dressing room respect) and the only one I see that have that and available is Jardim. Setien,Marcellino and others are obviously good coaches no doubt.

Hope for Silva too btw

1-Let's not act like Valverde is bad coach,he is a good one who is really liked and appreciated by Bilbao. He coached the 4th biggest club in Liga history in more games than any other coach and they want to renew him. Has been able to promote and develop youth greatly and got good results in comparison to his squad, Had some up and downs before it but his latest experience with Bilbao is more than encouraging.
2-As I said with Flavia I am taking into account the reality of the situation, not saying that Valverde is better than Sampaoli or Tuschel. But to be appointed for Barca coach and have support from media and board with no history here you need to have a totally different level of success than those guys. That is the situation of the club currently. And it isn't just because of stubborn board/Roberto but such situation has been developed through almost a decade.

Valverde is a decent coach but that's it.

Time we get a proven world class coach. Enough of the BARCA DNA.

Yes we do,but as I said, there isn't really a world class coach available, all are names said are coaches with smaller teams. I mean which one would you suggest as a world class manager ?
I think a world class coach could compete with the whole Barca DNA thing, simple as it is in my posts I don't see one who qualify as one we can get. Sarri ,Tuschel and Sampaoli are simply not a world class

I'd take Silva or Lemar over Coutinho. So he's Neymar's buddy? Does that mean we sigh him?

I've seen Coutinho disappear in too many tough games for Liverpool. Don't want him.

VERRATTI? PSG won't sell and even if they would this guy has bad mouthed Barca on a number of occasions.

Well didn't they just sign him to a new long term contract a few weeks ago? Seems like you'll have to get used to him unless some other club steps in to match his wages plus contract length.

Get a manager who actually has a plan.

That is the first and by far the most important step.

What makes you think Valverde doesn't have a plan? And who are these "proven world class coaches" we should be going after?

How about Allegri for a start?!

Look at the players Juve have and the ones we have.

We have a better squad but a shit manager.

Allegri was available but our board sat with its thumb up its ass as usual. If we had been more proactive Allegri could have been convinced.

You think Allegri is a "world class manager"?? The Milan fans I know couldn't stand him and while they gave him some credit for winning Serie A in his first season, after the three following seasons of failure they were happy when he was sacked. I think it would have been a very strange move to appoint Allegri in 2014 instead of Luis Enrique. Also I'm not so sure we have a better overall squad than Juve. Certainly we have some better players in certain positions but I think they have much better balance. And Allegri has by far the strongest squad in Italy.

Yes, he is world class. Antonio Conte is rated highly by everyone but didn't do shit with Juve in Europe. Allegri has made them alot better.

With our current squad situation only an experienced world class coach should be hired.

There are too many holes in the squad which won't be solved with ONE transfer window.

We need a manager who is tactically capable of dealing with this squad.

True. Allegri is the only one who would fit that description.
