Barca Transfers and Rumors

90 millions for Coutinho (why? to lose even more control) a player we dont need, will be like a death sentence for barca.

I really hope that all those rumors are usual BS from mundo and sport. If not this team will definitely be ruined next season.

The Reus rumor is so messed up. He is hardly fit and he is now a third of the player he was before, completely invisible in most games. If we do get him (don't think he wants to leave BVB), that shows Robert and this club are sheer crazy and dumb.

That´s just the old Di Maria and Reus rumours from 2-3 years ago and now they just added Vitolo because they probably know nothing right now but have to write about something.

The problem with the likes of Couthino, Reus and Di Maria is that they don't fit our system at all. These types of players are best suited playing the roles of central attacking midfielders or wingers, slotting them in at CM in our three man midfield would not solve any of our problems and would quite frankly be disastrous for our CL hopes. Signing a guy like Reus would be the equivalent of putting Neymar at CM and hoping that he can dictate play, it just won't happen. What we direly need at this point is a CM who can not only control possession, but also has a creative spark to ease the burden on Ney and Leo.

Nah, forget about it. Signings have to be made in June-July period, August is late too late for new players to fit in the squad.

Who do you guys see as this creative CM? Let's not mention unrealistic names like Verratti etc... Maybe Herrera?

Well knowing that Thiago (the board should be sentenced to prison for life for letting him go) and Verrati which are impossible options.

For me a player like Eriksen is a very realistic choice. He is not world class, but he definitely have what it takes to achieve new heights in barca

For me the only two options are

1. Messi at AM with two more defensive minded players covering him and for that need a new RW where Coutinho could play or rotate with Messi.

2. Messi goes back to the RW and holds his position more and a new more atacking minded midfielder acts as the playmaker with more variation than trying to find Messi all the time. Messi gets the ball less but in better situations nearer the box.

I would rather the second one as think with Messi in centre the team defer to him too much and the passing is slowed down which Messi less active off the ball contributes to. Against good teams left needing an all time great Messi pass to break down ten opposition players. Too predictable.

Cant see anyway Messi in midfield as a CM works and certainly not with another attacking player like Coutinho.

Been saying the same thing basically. Messi can't play midfield except if he is backed by a double pivot. Basically, when he losses the ball, which he will, we need to have two players closer to each other to deal with the threat.

So, he can play CAM in a 4-2-3-1. The wide midfielders, drop in transition and form a 4-4-2, with Messi and Suarez top. Or, even better, we start to press more, at least in the bigger games.

Also agree that the best thing would be for Messi to go back to RW, and we bring in players to strenghten that flank and actually engage Messi there. In this way we also get a lot of pressure off Neymar and Suarez. Trere's absolutely no coincidence that Neymar is suffocated after Alves left and Messi moved from RW. Teams leave Rakitic/Roberto more space because they don't fear them like they feared Alvessi.

Eriksen arent a deep playing playmaker, neither is Thiago. Both play more offensive AM like just outsde the goalarea, Eriksen even often breaks into it.
Unfortunally there are none at all available.
We could have gambled on Gündogan, or gambled on Dahoud this year, thats pretty much it. Both went for 15m while were going for Coutinho for 90m...
Verratti is the only top class deep playing CM but i would run out into town naked if we sign him.
If we can get Weigl cheap, say 20-25m i would go for him and start molding him into playing both DM and CM to take over for Busquetes one day.
