Eriksen is more of a xavi than iniesta type. I haven't seen an iniesta replacement out there. The closest is isco but that's pretty much impossible now that he's favored at Madrid

The club learned from the 2012-14 era that we are better off investing in younger CB talent than spending decent-big amount of money/targeting CB's who are either already WC or other older CB's (Mathieu-Verm) who don't have much resell value if they fail.
It's pretty much pointless at this stage to target Bonucci when we already have Pique, who's only a year younger than he is.

Which is why we should go all-in on Andreas Christensen who is as clear a bet on a future WC CB as you can come, and who is apparently dumped by Chelsea (if they buy Rüdiger for 35M€).

It's really wierd, though, seeing how adamant they were on not selling him to Mönchengladbach. Unless it's a ploy to sell him to wealthier clubs than BM, I still think they count on him for the coming season.
Now that's much better news to my mind especially Bonucci .

We've never got close to replacing Puyol and Bonucci is a great defender , probably the best around actually.
Again .... Our defence is poor at best ... we need a defender like Bonucci who can play alongside Pique or even in between Pique and Umtiti in a three . At worst Umtiti could play in the less important league and cup games - he's still learning after all .
