What obsession. it happens that the club that won 3 Cl in 3 years thanks to a great transfer policy and managment in general is our domestic competitor and our historical rival.

Getting verratti is more a of real madrid type of move. For the last 4 years madrid has focused on strengthening the midfield and the results are already showing

3 in 4 years.

Real have done well but have had a fair bit of fortune towards those wins.

They've been catching up. Gotten close, but failed to go all the way. After winning it last season, they'll have gained a lot of confidence to repeat it again and are improving their squad while we are sending bids for Paulinho.

That squad is learning how to play, live and fight together under Zidane.

Real going close doesnt mean anything really. No more than Barca being close last season even though need improved.

They were close to having no CL titles in last four years as well.

We could raise our bid and sign Paulinho and we will have a few brilliant minds here telling us how Paulinho is a good signing

And have gradually improved since then.

When you're at the top, you make the right adjustments to stay there. Barca failed at that, however Florentino Perez is doing whatever it takes to not make the same mistake by hoarding up talent in the team.

They'll keep the same core next season. Lose a couple of players, but replace them accordingly. Real Madrid are developing a winning culture they didn't have years ago and winning the La Liga title will help them get over the mental aspect the next time. Less likely they'll collapse.

If Barca's answer to that when they need improvement is Paulinho then.....well, you just gotta hope Valverde can maximize every bit of talent this team have.

The fact that we even made a bid for Paulinho is pathetic enough itself.
