unable to land Verratti, Theo Hernandez and Dani Ceballos sign for Madrid, looks like we won't even be able to land Paulinho (maybe a good thing)...what a disaster of a transfer market! I wonder if we will even get anyone?

Maybe a good thing? This is the best possible thing for us right now!

The only 'bomba' signing that they could make would be Veratti.

Everyone else would just be a firecracker.

Also 4 days it will be Saturday, do we ever announce signings on weekends? mmm

Remember when people posted:
We'll get 30m for Arda, 30m for Rafinha, 20m for Munir.

... because of "a current market".

We won't sell anyone.
Or if we'll sell in August, it will be for peanuts.
Or for even less than peanuts.

People said we won't get anything for Tello or that we will pay for a team to take Adriano or Mathieu from us. The market depend on each case and people makes the mistake of comparisons.
If player A is worth 80M then ours is worth 40M isn't the logic the market work with

Posted couple of pages before. He has nothing to back it up and probably a bs.

Its probably easier to get rid of high wage players if they are in their final year of contract. They are willing to take a pay cut as they get a signing on fee from the new club that can make up for the lower wage for one year.

Imo, problem is our winning era.
20-30 years ago we had normal wages and we weren't overpaying for wages.
But then Messi, Xavi and Iniesta happened and the board decided that we have to keep a winning team at all costs since current players were better than all other players from other clubs.
That was good back then.

But after that, the board hadn't realized that Mathieu is not Puyol, that Raki and Arda are not Xavi etc.
The board is still acting as if our players are a pure gold and as if we will turn into crap without them.

I could buy high wages for Msn to some extent.
But high wages for old Iniesta, Raki, Masch, Arda, Verm, Arda etc is a hint that a board is still living in a golden era.

Wake up, we are not the best club in the world anymore and we should stop paying wages as high as in 2008-2012.

These guys don't deserve high wages.

In the future, without trophies, our wages will luckily slowly go down.

Our wage bill is manageable with our huge revenue. There is such wealth within the industry now that salaries should be high and will continue to rise. Where do you think the money should go? Into agents' pockets on transfer fees? Into shareholders' pockets? It is absolutely fair that the entertainers get most of the money that is pouring into the game.

You cannot pay players salaries above their level. Especially compared to other teams. When players better than you are earning less, then it is a problem. Playing at Barca should be attractive enough.

Sure you should be compensated for what you're doing, but in line with the market.

For comparison, Paco is earning more than Morata right now. At the moment both are backup strikers for their teams. Morata is the better player.

There are some players at Barca on big contracts that are not warranted but that is the case at all clubs.

The flip side is that likes of Bale is on more than Neymar and Suarez, Nacho is on more than Umtiti, Lucas Silva is on more than Sergi Roberto, Coentrao is on more than Alba.

Dont think Barca are paying their players too much on individual level overall. The majority of them could earn more elsewhere.

For Paco and Morata I would say it is Morata who is out of line with the market and earning too little more than Paco being paid too much for a 30m in 2016.

Semedo rises for Barça side

-Barça reviews their initial bet by Bellerín, for which he does not want to make a stratospheric offer

-Nélson Semedo (Benfica) is the great alternative while Palencia is in the bedroom

FC Barcelona have reviewed their initial bet on the right back. If until a few days ago the great favorite of the technical secretariat and the best placed candidate was Hector Bellerín (22 years, Arsenal), in recent days his candidacy has been deflated. As Aye reported , the refusal of Arsenal to sell and, in any case, the cost of the operation if his club agreed to transfer it (Barca estimated that could cost 40 million euros) have played against him.

The arrival of Ernesto Valverde to Barcelona and his first contacts with Robert Fernandez , Pep Segura and Albert Soler have propitiated this new scenario. And is that time is pressing and urgent decisions. The one on the side, in the case of Bellerín , seems to be in a dead end and, without being essential for the ' Txingurri , the coach and the other technicians have decided to look towards other objectives.

The best placed is Nélson Semedo (22, Benfica), a young and talented carrilero of whom Robert has good reports and whose agent, Jorge Mendes , is well known in Can Barça. Yesterday was published in Portugal that the Barça had made a bid for him, in this case 30 million euros.

The option of the quarry is not ruled out and is played by Sergi Palencia . Between him and Aleix Vidal the side could be covered.

These are the three main options for the side of Barca and its current situation:

-Bellerin, no progress and almost ruled out expensive.

Héctor Bellerín was the great favorite of Robert Fernandez to reinforce the right side. The technical secretary and his team of collaborators relied blindly on their technical and physical abilities. In fact, the club of Barça met with its agent, Albert Botines , last week of May to agree the conditions of the transfer and to plan the timing of the operation, which included an attack of the own player to Arsène Wenger combined With Barca's request to Arsenal to sell him to Catalan. But neither the request of the club nor the two appointments of the defense with the Alsatian coach have worked. In Barça they see the Arsenal closed in band and, in addition, Suspect that if it acceded to sell would be by 40 million at least. And neither Ernesto Valverde sees his signing as imperious as tightening to the limit by him nor Bartomeu wants to pay that money for a player who left the club cadet and free. In short, Robert still relying on the player but the rest of those who decide not so much. And if there is no consensus, there is no signing.

-Semedo, the new bet for power and youth

Nélson Semedo (23, Benfica) is a player that the technical secretariat has been following for some time. Without being Robert's favorite , there are also good reports of his. Those who know him well speak of a powerful player, with a good physique, with a huge deployment and with good technique to attack by band and defend with solvency.

From Barça it is admitted that he likes Valverde and that there are movements around his figure to try to recruit him. Benfica president Luís Filipe Vieira was in Barcelona in early May and met with Robert . They were talking about 'mercato' but neither party wanted to confirm the names that came out in the conversation. In any case, they spoke about Semedo , a player who was already on the list of the technical secretariat facing the winter market when looking for a relief to Aleix Vidal . She tried unsuccessfully with Srna .

Also on the table was the name of Semedo when player agent Jorge Mendes was in Barcelona on June 20 and met with several directors and executives of Barca. At that meeting we talked about players who had offers, such as André Gomes (who also represents Mendes ), others who were looking for output as Arda Turan and, finally, defenses that could interest Barca as are Fabinho ( Monaco), Cancelo (Valencia) and the aforementioned Semedo . Even Bellerín's agent knew that the alternative to his footballer was the side of Benfica. Now that the Catalan defender has lost integers,

-Palencia, the alternative of the quarry

Sergi Palencia (21, Barça B) is the option of the quarry that is handled now from the top leadership of Barça and that Ernesto Valverde does not rule out to finally strengthen the side. The technical Extremadura is accustomed to trust young players and the references that have come from Palencia are unbeatable. Strong player, good defender, tireless and disciplined, knows perfectly the Barça style and is the captain of the subsidiary. Now Valverde wants to see it in action and, while it is resolved whether or not a side is tabulated, test its qualities in first person.

Nor should we forget that on the side is Aleix , who rendered good level when Luis Enrique finally gave opportunities. A soccer player, moreover, that was a signing two summers ago and that arrived endorsed by its potency as a rail. And also, admit from the club, turn towards Semedo or Palencia can go well to force Bellerín to hurry his last options. There is still a market.
