Barca Transfers and Rumors

We need both Cutinho and Dembele, one just won't cut it. Neymar left one big hole after he left, now it's extremely easy to defend against us. Also take in the consideration that Real played without Modric and Ronaldo (for the most of the game).

We need to seal this two transfers or this will be by far the worst season in last 10 years!

We can yap on about this player and that player ...but we are ignoring the elephant in the room.

Our era is over.... finished. The spine of our side is degenerating. They are not the same players anymore. Coutinho and Dembele will make a slight difference but not much. Our midfield is outdated, our playing style... almost everything.

The board has to go first. We need fresh ideas, new players and a big name manager. Patience will be required too. The CL is out of the question this season, the league too. We have to lower our expectations.

Mistakes have been made over the years that have led to this very moment and while Madrid has been building a team, we've been burning money on players that are neither young nor starter material.
Modric and Isco were 10 million more expensive than Song and 5 millions cheaper than Arda Turan or Andre Gomes
Kroos was only 5 million more expensive than Mathieu and cheaper than Alcacer
Douglas was more expensive than Asensio, Digne and Cillessen were 3-4x more expensive.

Madrid has basically signed their entire midfield for less money than we've burned on players that didn't improve what we already had. They've also secured great young players while we still don't have an alternative to Busquets or a reliable substitute for 33 year-old Iniesta. The trend doesn't seem like its going to stop either: This summer, Madrid signed Theo and Ceballos for the same amount of money we're about to pay for 29 year old Paulinho.

For some reason I can't paste the link address onto this site so I copied the text of a bit of news that might explain the Paulinho deal. If this is true bartomeu has to go

There has been a lot of confusion regarding Barça’s interest in Guangzhou’s Paulinho. How is a Premier League flop moving to Barcelona for an eye-watering €40 million? Has Barcelona lost its minds? Are we really going from Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta to Paulinho?

There has been online speculation that there is more to Paulinho’s transfer than just sporting reasons.

Josep Maria Bartomeu Floreta is a partner and CEO at ADELTE Group which is into designing, manufacturing, supplying and maintaining airports, seaports and road transport operations.Apparently, ADELTE Group is expanding into China and bidding on projects like the Ocean Flower Island being built by the Evergrande group which also happens to be the parent organisation of—you guessed it—Guangzhou.

There are rumours that Florentino Perez’s ACS Group was also bidding for the project, but with the Paulinho transfer concluded, could be handed over to ADELTE Group and/or associates.

If true, this is abominable behaviour from the club president—it is shameful that Barcelona has merely become a tool for Bartomeu’s personal gains.

There is still no concrete source or information and everything is merely speculation, but the Paulinho transfer is definitely starting to seem murkier than it appears on the surface.

eaman I really doubt there is any corruption involved. I think they just feel he adds to our squad.

Both Sport and MD are saying we are going to accelerate the signings of Coutinho and Dembele this week. Hopefully true

Would be a bit ridiculous if we didn't since there's only two weeks left..

Last week we also accelerate, nothing new.

This board is deluded beyond belief, we won't get him unless we pay 150m, end of story.

First it was Coutinho and Dembele will both be presented before the Gamper, then before the SuperCopa, now on Thursday, gimme a break.
