Barca Transfers and Rumors

Actually not beating Peru and Venezuela at home should be a miracle. Qualification is in the hands of Argentina and it's not that big of an obstacle to overcome.

I am not that optimistic. The present team is a very good one, with some changes, in the long run. Right now, they are not playing as a team. Venezuela is not going to be that easy. I see a tie, which would be devastating.

Not wanting to be too harsh... but how is that a good article?

All it does is mention Rivaldo for no reason then go on to list players that are not good enough or unattainable.

There is no real talent in la liga worth getting outside of the top three teams.

I agree that there is no good talent in La Liga worth signing. That is the quagmire they find themselves in. They either sign Coutinho or find a "Rivaldo" or the Board is out. There are no "Rivaldos." In other words, It is Coutinho or they are out! I agree with that assessment.

IMHO, if we cannot get an offensive player worth getting like Coutinho, we should reinforce our defense. Iñigo Martinez comes in mind. However, we have players coming out of our ears. Lack of planning?

When it comes to the starting XI, our defense and attack are at least good enough to challenge for the CL, at least on paper (Pique and Suarez do need to regain their form). But our midfield is Europa League level. If not mid table.

Suarez looks shot. Pique is back to his complacent self and yes the midfield is piss poor.

I doubt Coutinho is coming. We will probably get Parejo or some other b grade player.

The board can kiss their asses goodbye.

So according to COPE Barca might turn their attention to £55m Ozil. Would you guys rather sign him for that amount or just save the money?

I mean, Pique could be back to his pre-Lucho self but I'm inclined to believe it's just form. Maybe that's just me trying to be optimistic. But he's never that good at the start of the season.

If he is back to his pre-Lucho self, Valverde should bench him like Lucho did. It's worth risking a couple of games with Mascherano to put Pique back in GOAT mode.
