Barca Transfers and Rumors

Can people here just be a bit more sensible? Its really not that simple to wave a magic wand (30ME) and our LB position is covered for years. Firpo himself said hes not interested in a move here yet - for very good reasons.

We should give Firpo more minutes then. Real Madrid bought Mendy despite Marcelo is still going pretty strong and Ruigilon being quite impressive (him and Vinicius gave Alba a great beating last time).

Ah come on. Marcelo looked done last season. Alba still has some time left. Reguillon is average at best, seriuosly. Dont get me wrong, I would like Firpo very much. But its not insane to get Felipe as short time back up and reassess our left back situation in a year or two.

So we will have a 34-year-old backing up a 30-year-old who does have tendencies to get injured (more with the NT I know but still, and as players get older there are increasing chances of getting injured) for how many more seasons? One or two? What happens when Fillip Luis is too old or too crappy to back up Alba, we buy another old player until Alba himself is too old and crappy, then we will start looking for a younger LB?

Hmmmm....

I would like to see Firpo for three reasons:

1- He is a promising player
2- We can include Rafinha in the deal
3- Free up the LB for Miranda and loan him to Betis

If he is going to be around 30m then I think that is a fair price.

So apparently we are going cheap and might not sign Firpo after all, instead Flilip Luis. So what is going to happen when both Alba and Luis are too play to play in a few years? Then we will buy a replacement?

Spending 120m on Griezmann and yet don't want to spend 30m on a proper, long-term LB. This club is so long on present time and short on future.

Tough times ahead for Barca fans to endure. But we will.

The mismanagement of this club is astounding

Again: Firpo himself said he doesnt consider Barcelona (or Madrid for that matter) yet.

There are things we can do to change his mind. It is called persuasion.

Anyways, I can only say good luck to us in the next couple of seasons and good luck to us finding someone else in a couple of years. Good LBs are hard to come by these days.

Of course buying Firpo is better than getting Filipe. But it's all about what to prioritise with our limited funds. We can't perfectly strengthen every starting position + backup position.

Soon we will have the 75m we had on De Ligt, I hope we spend it wisely and think long-term.

Castles said: “My information is that Barcelona would ask him (Nemyar) to take a pay-cut from what he’s on at PSG to come back.

“The briefing I have from Qatar is that they are absolutely ready to sell Neymar this summer on the condition that the financial package works for them which is essentially getting the money they paid back.”

So our senior players ( loads of ‘em ) are gonna be older and even slower and less ambitious... Messi must be totally disillusioned .

How are we gonna be better ?

There’s no guarantee that FDJ will be allowed to be as influential as he’s used to being especially if he’s sharing games with Vidal and Arthur ..

FDJ by many accounts it the best true cental midfielder in the game, and his is a very athletic and active player. I don't think there is muh doubt he will be a regular.

Griezmann has been a top 10 player in the world a long time. Good as assisting and scoring and plays multiple positions, he also is a very active player.

Lenglet, Arthur, Dembele & Semedo should only be getting better.

There are many reasons for optimism already, our defense and overall athleticism should be much better, and lots of young players got regular minutes.

Still would like a manager who can get more as a collective than the individual players--but those are rare at the top level (Pep, Klopp).
