It seems Alves is going for PSG instead of City and Aurier might leave, Juve interested, why Barca isn't?

I don't understand this board. Don't have they any imagination? Why don't try to get Nemanja Matic or a guy like Radja Nainggolan for the midfield. They are not as good like Verratti but they are probably a lot cheaper and without any doubt a lot better than Paulinho. And for the RB why not try to change André Gomes for Semedo to get the price down?

Matic isnt good enough or type of player needed and Nainggolan is 29 and would be too expensive.

Trying to sign Paulinho doesnt then justify other names that are not good enough or right profile just because they are better than him.

There is no way Andre Gomes would want to go back to Benfica if leaves Barca. He would most likely have a lot better options than that.

Roma promised Radja a year a go an improved contract but they still haven't fulfilled their promise and Radja is getting impatient. So there is a chance, with a little bit of negotiation, you can get hem for a decent price.

And i think you underestimate Matic. The guy is aggressive, strong, technically, has great passing abilities, has a great shot, is very good in the air, is a master in interceptions, and last but not least, he has dept in his game.

Signing players in August is kinda pleb move. Better to let the new players have a proper off-season.

Yeah but Barca should attempt to sign him, not so expensive as compared to Bellerin, Semedo or other options, proven and with some issues regarding his attitude and personality but those issues should be manageable.
