Coutinho should play in Iniestas role eventually i guess if he joins?
Havent watched Liverpool to much.
I wouldnt mind a midfield with Messi and Coutinho, but people say Coutinho doesnt backtrack and we all know Messi does no backtracking.

Dembele-Suarez-Messi
Coutinho-Weigl
Busquetes

I wouldnt mind that, Weigl is 50/50 DM/CM, good box to box, has great passingabilities and is young.
Hes also been injured, which could make the demanded price a little bit lower.
Problem is BVB probably dont want to sell another player to us.

Best scenario for me guys is: Dembele LW/RW - in (already) , Coutinho CM/LW - in , Jorginho CM - in , Inigo Martinez CB - in , Grimaldo/Guerreiro LB - in , Yerry Mina CB (already 2018) - in , Dolberg/Dybala (or both lol) ST/CAM - in ,
Turan CM - out , Gomes CM - out , Douglas RB - out , Mascherano CB/CDM - out (probably next summer) , Iniesta - out (unfortunately maybe next 1-2 seasons max) , Vermaelen CB - out , Marlon CB - Loan , Samper CDM - Loan (already)

The season where they finished third in the league you mean and needed a Ramos special to win the Champions league

Dembele is enough, we have a team now.

I'm looking forward to seeing S. Roberto starting most of the games in midfield. It will be interesting to see how the depth shakes out behind Iniesta and Rak, lots of candidates still on the squad, I think there's a fair chance someone will show what it takes. Busquets might be better, now that there is an alternate who I think will be able to handle a lot of playing time.

I'm looking forward to seeing a sub/alternate the quality of Deulofeu help out at forward.

Roberto is good enough to be Barca starter if the system is functioning. Unfortunately, last season, even Busquets looked horrible so what do you expect from Roberto playing a goddamn RB.

This is my proposed roster if we get Coutinho. I believe we are going with a 4-3-3 formation:

Goalies:

Ter Stegen; Cillegsen (2)

Back four:

Alba/Digne; Umtiti/Mascherano; Pique/Vermalen; Semedo/Vidal (8)

Midfield:

Busquets/Paulinho; Roberto/Paulinho; Iniesta/Coutinho; Denis Suarez; Gomes; Rakitic (8)

Offense:

Dembele/Deulofeu; Messi/Coutinho; Luis Suarez/Alcacer (5)

That would be a total of 23 players. Only 18 will be called for a given game; five will be left out. However, that would be a very strong team that will challenge for La Liga, King’s Cup, and the Champions League. The players that will be left out could typically be Vermalen, Gomes, Rakitic, Denis Suarez and a fifth one. The decision might not be that hard since we will have injuries. They have to understand what their roles would be and do what is appropriate for their careers.

Players that would have to go to other teams might be Turan, Munir, Rafinha, and Douglas. I’m not including Malcron and Rafinha, because we might be over the 3 limit for non EU players. I believe that the 3 places are going to Coutinho, Paulinho, and Luis Suarez. I really hate to transfer Rafinha.

A typical starting lineup might be:

Ter Stegen; Alba, Umtiti, Pique, and Semedo; Busquets, Roberto, and Iniesta; Dembele, Messi, and Suarez.

On the bench:

Cillegsen, Coutinho, Paulinho, Digne, Vidal, Mascherano, Deulefeu. The problem here is that we might have spent €170M (Coutinho, Paulinho, and Deulefeu) to be on the bench. However what if Messi, Iniesta, L. Suarez, Roberto, or Dembele get hurt? We need Coutinho and I would send Alcacer to another team. In other words, Coutinho would be the super-sub. We do not need Alcacer. I would use Coutinho or Dembélé as a "9," if we need to.

The above team is a very strong one and does not take a back seat to Real Madrid.

Please, we do not need more mid fielders. We have them coming out of our elbows.

Rakitic was a starter all preseason, supercopa and la liga so far, why should he be left over? Also too expensive to be left

Busquets was good for most of the season. Good in all the big games bar away at PSG where he and Iniesta were just back from injury and not fully match fit. He didn't play away against Juventus. He was brilliant in both clasicos. But yes the midfield needs to be functioning around him like it does for any defensive midfielder
