Since there have been few ideas to solve our lack of attacking depth, I'm going to throw the name of Evan Ferguson in to the ring.

Now, he can't play on the wing, but if you are not convinced by Ferran at centre forward, then Ferguson could be a surprise hit.

Rumours he is available on loan and obviously wages wouldn't be a problem. He's promising but somewhat injury prone, so loan only.

Brighton would only loan him to a club where he would have guaranteed first team minutes. He's also been injured/out of form and lacking confidence for over a year now so not sure how much immediate impact he'd really have here.

Has joined West Ham on loan now anyway. We'll see if Potter can get something out of him.

Any news about the guy?
It seems that many other clubs are also interested, but so far zero news and he is without a club for sometime now. Very weird tbh

Index.hr provides an update on the transfer situation surrounding Cardoso Varela. Cardoso Varela was offered to some Bundesliga clubs, but they considered it a risky business. Porto emphasized from the beginning that Dinamo Odranski Obrež was just a temporary stop to take the player to a big European club at an acceptable price.

Sportske Novosti reported on the controversial transfer situation involving Varela and Dinamo Odranski Obrež. Varela was taken to Dinamo Odranski Obrež by managers under questionable circumstances. Varela's father alleged in a letter to FIFA that his son had been psychologically terrorized in Porto and faced threats. Dinamo OO sent a letter to the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) indicating that FC Porto might create registration issues. However, FIFA rejected the transfer request on two occasions, in June and September 2024.

According to Croatian media, Cardoso Varela, a 16-year-old winger, is reportedly on the verge of signing with Dínamo Zagreb.
The club has managed to persuade Varela's family that Dínamo represents the best choice for his career. After visiting the training center, the family decided to settle in Maksimir. The Croatian Football Federation plans to initiate a procedure with FIFA to register the player, as FIFA is responsible for overseeing the international registrations of underage players. The move of the player's parents to the capital is considered a crucial factor. Although Varela is free to sign with any club, the transfer might be blocked because FIFA had previously prevented his registration with NK Dinamo Odranski Obrez, a 4th division Croatian club. Considering recent history, it seems unlikely that FIFA will approve the transfer.

These reports are around 3 weeks old so not sure if anything has happened since.

A lot of drama, probably the best for Barca to stay out of it. As talented as he is looks like his entourage is prefering money over his development. Whichever club will want to sign him will need to deal with FIFA and/or Porto first.

Can’t see Torre being let out, even on loan, considering how ineffective Ansu has been with the minutes he’s gotten thus far

Shame we couldn’t have landed a LW, even on loan

Torre has barely played and that is with Ferran, Olmo, Gavi, Fermin and even FDJ missing minutes.

Even Pau Vitor is coming on ahead of him.

Every one of them and likes of Pedri would get picked ahead of Torre currently.

He will barely play of stays and need minutes.

If the offer was permanent move for Torre, it is a mistake to turn it down tbh. On loan, I can get the idea behind it.
Permanent, sure but I’ve only read links to a loan - even if a buy option was possible, Barça would be right to maximize that clause in light of the Nico boon

For a loan, yes, him getting minutes in Portugal would be great for everyone but we have poor depth in scoring bench options. He’s a legitimate goal scoring threat when a match cannot be unlocked, frankly Flick should be opting for him more earlier in matches like he did with Frenkie yesterday

I just think the timing at the close of the window does not benefit Barça

Torre got 373 minutes so far in the season, including 81 minutes against 3rd division side in CDR. That's 291 minutes againt actual first division team.
Only 71 minutes after 20th of October against Sevilla.

He isn't really part of rotation in the past 3+ months. If we have offer to sell, with the same agreement we had with Nico, then you gotta do it.

I can get keeping him if it was a loan offer, because if he fails, then we get nothing and Flick just loses an end of the bench player for whatever.

I think he is talented, and too good for his role
