Barca Transfers and Rumors

More and more rumors about Leao. I think he would fit if he is willing to increase his work rate but the irony is that he's not a starter when everybody is fit.

There's an odd rumour that Sociedad think Zubimendi will finally bite the bullet and join City, and they are looking at Pablo Torre as his replacement.

Now ignoring that Torre is never a pivot, I guess the writer didn't get the memo that Pablo Torre ain't Basque.

And why is that important? It's Sociedad not Bilbao.

Sociedad only play Basque Spanish players, but allow for foreign players.

EDIT.

I see that Sociedad have eased up on that policy in recent years.
Was just going to say, not as exclusively and strictly as Athletic. David Silva and Sergio Canales some examples, although they are rare. Usually at most the go just outside Basque region. Merino isn't technically from Basque country for example.

They are signing non-Basque Spaniards for the last 20 years. Ofc majority of their players are Basques as they come through their academy or are signed from smaller clubs in the region. Some of them like Remiro are also from Lezama (Bilbao academy).

But just in current squad they have a Catalan Sergio Gomez and a Galician Brais Mendez and before that they had David Silva (Gran Canaria) and Canales (Cantabria). Just out of my head, there are surely other players too.

E: Slowpoke, I see @Andresito already mentioned Silva and Canales.

Merino was born in Pamplona as was Raul Garcia for example. But Bilbao considers players from the Navarra community as eligible to play for them, probably because Basque is official language there besides Spanish.

We have two elite wingers right now with the depth behind them being beyond garbage.

Just adding even a good or very good one will raise this team's ceiling allowing them to keep everyone fresh or not be subjected to such a massive drop in quality if one's injured.

Should probably look at the striker market as well, but money's an issue......

And people think Leao or Williams would be overkill.

Sign in Davies, Leao/Williams and proper RB.

People learned nothing from the past when they kept signing scrubs as depth behind MSN.

Sign good players and let them compete, and in two years if one of them don't want to compete anymore you sell and sign another good player.

Still, this team needs a left winger. If one of the pair Rafinha-Lamine is not playing, we stupidly play without one flank.

Ofc.

We cant win against Celta and Ossasuna without Yamal.

And people think we dont need like 3 superb players.

It isn't "without Yamal".
It could have been Raphinha or Lewa and it would still be the same.
Even if on paper the problem wasn't the attack today, since we scored twice.

But it is kerping team structure. Without any of the fron 3, especially the 2 wingers, we can't play same formation.

There is a reason we managed to do decent with F.Torres in line up, because when he is in, he is shit, but team structure and game plan is the same. So that is one shit player.

Those last 2 games, Sociedad/ Celta only had to worry about Raphinha, while we had an overkill of midfielders without an ounce of control. That allowed them to play more comfortably and build up better.
