Didn't Bellering say, in person, that he does not want to come back? How does this work, he talk him into wanting to come back? How is he still an option if he doesn't want to move? This stupid shit is the reason I'm rather pessimistic about this thing. Like with Thiago Silva. If we keep chasing players who are, for one reason or another, not available, we'll end up with some panic buys.

I thought all we would do is get polished players as backups or for rotation and clear some players out of the squad but since masch is probably leaving i will have to follow this thread a lot. Let's just hope we don't turn like before when we used to pray for CB's season after season and wouldn't get any.

IIRC he said something along the lines of Barça being an option in the future, but definitely not the next couple of years.

Not what he said recently.

He said his future at Arsenal and not his dream to return to Barca. His dream was to play at Camp Nou and has done that.

About as clear as he can be really.

What a day. Thought it was bad enough to lose Mascherano but now Alves is gone too. Seems like Alves is gone, which for me is a bit surprising considering how good he's looked for roughly the last calendar year. If this is true, we have got to convince Mascherano to stay at least for another year. I think truly replacing both a starting RB and CB in the market this summer will be next to impossible.

We should definitely push for Bellerin, regardless of if he has made commitments to Arsenal or not. I think now that our RB spot is wide open, he'd definitely reconsider his allegiances. Cesc jumped ship with Xavi and Iniesta ahead of him with a bit of pressure from us.

Buckle up boys, we are in for one helluva summer window.

P.S. I think now with these developments, 75% of our funds need to go to top class replacements for Dani and Masch, we should heavily consider letting Halilovic stay. He wants to stay from his statements and he'd be an extremely cheap MSN sub who has room to develop into a world class player for us. I think he's ready for at least a sub role for us.

I am one of Halilovic biggest fans here, but I don't get how he will be MSN back up.he isan AM/RW .so he can only be a back up for Messi in the front 3.but then again both Denis & Rafinha can play that position too.
I would let him develop elsewhere rather than waste him here when there is very little playing time for him.we need a no9 for attack and Halilovic doesn't help for that.

While I don't disagree with saying Alen isn't a 9, he could easily slot in for Messi at RW and I think he'd do decently on the LW with someone he could cross to. The thing is though, I'm not sure we have enough for both a 9 sub and LW/RW sub as well and the upside of someone like Alen is higher than someone like Gamiero. Another year on loan certainly won't hurt him but I saw enough improvement in his game with Gijon for me to think he's ready but that's just me.

Again the priority of our funds need to be Ney's contract extension and replacing Masch and Alves.
Luftstalag14 I like Tah a lot but he's a bit raw still. But I'd be happy with him and Umtiti as our CBs this summer, cheap and both with a lot of upside potential. I wouldn't mind a more polished product from the likes of Marquinhos or Laporte but particular if we are handcuffed by wages and FFP, those two would fit nicely here.
