If we only want to buy a CB, fullback and forward I guess some higher-ups decided we won't need any new muscles in CM/DM/AM - which in turn implies that Arda is staying. Not 100% what I think of that, but time will tell. Dennis Suarez MAYBE could offer something, but I'm still on the fence.
A fullback? As a replacement for Alves or backup for Alba? If backup for Alba than bye bye Marlboro man, but if he takes Alves place maybe Alves will be the new backup because Vidal ain't up for it imho.
Halilovic? I would keep him as our joker, can play both wings and CAM. He's proven enough that he can hold his ground against some better players in Liga. Wages etc won't be high and we might need him. I also of course hope he will put in another level.
The players leaving? Agree 100% on all of them. I would probably include Vidal on that lit. But Mathieu has shown he is useful on CB and LB to some extent. Munir is rough, but there is something about that guy. If played in Suarez role, with som timing and hard work, he should score some goals.
Imo we need a new CB, backup LB, RB, CM and Forward - that's 5 players.
CB would have to be a player with tons of potential, high price.
Backup LB if Mathiue leaves, there are some lower profile players with smaller fees that could get the job done.
RB we need a new player coming straight in and know exactly what he's doing. No chances or "yeah we bought him for 18/19 season but yeah".
CM? All depends on Arda, Rafinha and Dennis Suarez - imho Rafinha should be first one out and Suarez should only come if he really has a 3M buyback. It's harder with Arda. I like the guy, I like how he plays. It's not perfect, but we won't find a much better player - if we sell him it better be for Pogba.
Forwards? I have ni idea who would fit in.

Buying new LB won't affect Mathieu's future. He'd still stay as our 3rd or 4th CB.
If Alves stays we won't buy new RB. I doubt we'd buy one even if Alves leaves.
Why would you get rid of Rafinha? He's young with potential, Lucho likes him and he can play in midfield and attack so it would make absolutely no sense to sell him. And yes, Denis clause is 3M and we'll get him back.

So it looks like we need a quality cb, cb back up, Alba back up, starting rb and an msn backup.
Im inclined to keep Vermaelen for one more year since we need so much defensive reinforcements.
Midfield is solid with Rafinha fit and Denis rejoining.
A lot depends if Mascherano ends up leaving.
Im ok with Alves going but we do need a good replacement. Sadly an over the hill Alves is still better than 95% of the rb's currently out there.
