Woj announced his retirement. He is the GOAT of sport news journalism.
I wasn't aware of his profile until you mentioned it. Sounds like he was the biggest insider in NBA.

Tbf I can't think of any serious analysists, ESPN and TNT base their programme on entertainment value. Chuck, Stephen A., Shannon, Shaq, etc... they go full comedy or dull controversy for ratings.

There are many, but mostly online.
Youtube is full of those, and many of them were later recruited by teams in the league.
Reddick was also massive, but then again got a big coaching gig. Ben Simmons used to have some insight, and recruited many to the ringer.

There is a big market for it, just not on TV

Is he above Jordan at this point?

What's your NBA team?

Jordan's peak is still unmatched IMO.

10 scoring titles, 6 championships in 6 tries, 6 finals MVPs, 5 regular season MVPs. Highest PPG of all time.

But LBJ's stats and longevity are absurd. Second highest peak of all time (only to Jordan), and a stronger, more versatile player. Just not as mentally strong/clutch.

It might end up being 1a/1b type of ranking at this point.

Favorite NBA team is the Lakers because I started following basketball during the Lakers and Spurs era of early 00s.

LeBron is one of the legends of the league, but in time he'll be normalized to where Kareem and Magic are at. It's the media hype of likes the ESPN to pump up ratings.

Same media avoid Nikola Jokic, who is by far the best current player in NBA, year after year and he's having a beast season so far. But he is so boring like Tim Duncan was, there's no money in those guys. And he's a foreign product which hits hard on many.

Jordans peak is not only unmatched by his will to power in winning continuous titles for Bulls that were hardly "all star"/"galactico", but also his sheer presence especially being clutch almost on any occasion it was necessary. There he is kinda above Messi, if we even dare to compare different sportsballs. He was menacing cunt, who got angrier and more efficient whenever push comes to shove. Just couldn't beat him in crush matches even, when playing alongside guys like Longley/Wenington, crazy Rodman, who was out half a time due to techicals and by historic standards, mediocre role players like Kerr, Kukoc, Harper. Pippen was the only other "star" player. Maybe Horace in the first stint, but mostly just good hard working guys. Without MJ those teams would be mid table at best.
