Bastian Schweinsteiger

Hm ... i wouldnt necessarily go so far. I can imagine that Schweinsteiger really preferred to stay in munich, but made very good use of his offers from other clubs, seemingly sympathizing with a transfer to a different club in order to get as muhc as possible - which in the end is legitimate.

Note that it is Hoeness making that statement, prolly still under the influence of some long and tough negotiations, perhaps intenting to have the last word there ...

Intending and pretending to stay at the club for the lifetime is obv not the best condition for contract negotiations ... unless your name is Messi and you have a nice contract clause that keeps you the best earning player of the club ... ;)

What are you talking about? Shchweinie was a total beast, he was tasked with staying deep so he couldnt go forward as much. As for the penaldo... well that was all down to luck.

People are bumping Bastian and Gomez' threads accusing them of choking, but actually they both did rather well. Gomez missed a couple of good chances but thats the sort of player he is, he did brilliantly to create that 2nd chance for himself but should have finished better but IMO the one man who failed Bayern last night (as he has on countless occasions, and his mediocracy almost cost Bayern against Real) was Robben. I'm not criticising him for missing that pen, but he sucked the whole night, he's selfish and greedy, he took like 10 shots on goal (all were piss poor) when he had team mates all around him, and his passing was mediocre all night, his runs were largely superficial and I don't recall him getting past any Chelsea defender all night long. The astonishing thing is that he continued being a greedy dickhead even after his penalty miss. I just hate Robben, I hate his character and I hate how he is talent less pile of crap (at least in the past 3 seasons) and always chokes on the big stage (to be honest he hasn't even been performing on the small stage for years now). Get rid of the asshole Bayern. H'es more self centred than Messi and Ronaldo yet he's 1/10th of either player in terms of ability.

Schweinsteiger made only 78 successful passes out of the attempted 90... And then he misplaced them at crucial positions in the attackign area. He was not totally deep too, interchanged his position with Kroos.

And then it was definitely on his shoulders to lead the team last night... We always knew that Chelsea were gonna suffocate Bayern in the wings, double marking Ribery & Robben (and Lahm!). So it was down to Schweinsteiger, Kroos and Muller to exploit the mid field... Muller & Kroos played their part, scoring and assisting their only goal respectively.

He didn't have poorest game per se, but it was his turn to be the inspiration, lead the team to take that one step further! That is where he failed!!
