ManU have reportedly offered 22 million - a joke!
Joke? That's in fact a very good price if you're buying a young and not-yet-so-established striker into Premier League. His career could go either way. He could either shoot off like Aguero or Torres, or he could struggle like Forlan. It's that kind of Ruud-Kezman gamble and United are being smart about it.

Nuri Sahin, Kagawa and Barrios show where that leads, it is really annoying that all poaching in Dortmund.

Why put them all on the same shelf? Sahin's and Kagawa's careers are far from over and despite setbacks they still have shown their talent. And Barrios was never going to be anything more than what for instance Villa is/was for Barca. Lewandowski has a bigger future ahead of him.

yes, Leva is very young, but that's also Martinez and for him Bayern has laid 40 million - please don't get me wrong, but Dortmund's Sven Bender is at least as good, and for much cheaper. If ManU necessarily want our players , then Dortmund should determine the price.
Madrid would certainly ask for such a player 30-40 million. Why Dortmund should "give away" all players? But as I said, it looks as Lewa has to stay until 2014.
Borussia don't need to sell him now - so simple! A striker like him s currently not on the market - not less than 25 million. Klopp knows it .

I don't see a reason why any current Dortmund player would necessarily want to go to England, aside possibly from money. This Dortmund is a very, very good team.

Emma, has there been anything in the reliable German press about Lewandowski wanting to leave? (ie, not Bild, but something more serious like Suddeutsche Zeitung, etc. I'd look myself but my German is not very good).

Llorente would be a massive signing, very good replacement, but would he prefer Dortmund over Juve? He would also ask for crazy wages, which causes other players to ask for more, and I´m not sure wether Dortmund is in that financial position just yet. They were almost bankrupt a few years ago.

Why Dortmund instead Juwe? Simply because Dortmund is a brilliant club. ;)
A horny coach, young players, the best audience and one of the finest stadiums in Europe.:D

German football is certainly on the up and Dortmund are certainly one of the most exciting teams in world football at the moment, but for alot of players it's not always about the now. Past footballing successes will always ring loudly in the thoughts of current players who are at a great team, but can also make that step up to a team with a greater reputation and standing. Lewandowski going to Manchester United shouldn't be frowned apon or another team like Juventus/Real Madrid. Money will obviously help, playing in a different league and being part of a different culture could also be a factor, but history also comes in to it.

Random statement concluded.

Martinez isn't a striker going into Premier League. Tho he was largely overpaid, but that's today's market for you.

It's not like Dortmund is the only German team whose stars were exploited in the latest years. Ozil and Khedira for instance are now worth 2-3 times the fee they were sold from their respective clubs after World Cup. Sure, it's more visible with Dortmund but in general it just seems that Germans became a little careless in the market making some deals that could be grinded a bit more, but then again their league is most stable so I don't blame them. But I'm not the most knowledgeable about their financial state so maybe someone will fill in on that.

If you have the guys that are talented, you should be able to convince them that your team has the ability to establish themselves in Europe - that's the only way you will not have to enter negotiations and try to grind deals for young talents. You're never going to manage to get a lot from a transfer of a 21-yr old World Cup wonderkid like Ozil was, because no one, not even Madrid, are silly enough to take such gamble. That's why Sahin went for so cheap and that's why 22mln is a good price to take for Lewandowski (unless of course a certain Russian billionaire comes in and says he'll give you the equivalent amount his yacht is worth for the player ;)).

Bayern managed to keep Lahm and Schweinsteiger, Borussia seem to be holding onto Hummels and others. It's not all lost even if Lewandowski leaves.
Especially with strength of English clubs and the likes Real Madrid or Milan under question. Despite Messi being the favorite to trounce every team in Europe, if Borussia win it they'll become a more likely destination for all the talent. That is, if they can keep their fundamental boys.

No, Lewa has not yet expressed a desire to leave Dortmund. But his idiotic consultant draws almost a year in Europe and offers him everywhere. But Borussia considered him not to let go until 2014 .

Dortmund should sell Lewa for 25 and with that money buy Llorente. For him that is a better destination than Juve or anywhere else, and if Mario Gomez did it, I am sure Fernando can. His movement is excellent, his heading ability is supreme and his interlink play is also good. He won't be someone who wants to leave, because this would be the big move for him, unlike players who have used Dortmund as a stepping stone.

sounds good, I agree with you. But how much would he cost?

Oh wow I forgot about that....in that case there is a suitable replacement! I want Lewa to stay either way. But if he leaves then Dortmund should definitely go for Llorente! I think he would do well with them.
