People dislike Pep because he is fake. Simple as that. Going to Bayern and then first thing he does is saying how Lahm is "the most intelligent player" he has ever managed after having coached the likes of Xavi, Busquets and Messi. :rofl1: Or how he would love to have 1000 Dante's. Or signing Thiago from us after saying he wouldn't buy a Barca player. Or refusing to sign a Barca shirt and throwing a tantrum. And let's not forget how he was beat to a league title for the first time in his coaching career by Mourinho's Madrid and then simply called it a day to start a 4-year sabbatical. He could've easily done another season with us, win the league again by beating Real to it, possibly another CL and then go on vacation.

This put me off him slightly too even after all he did for us.. It's like an unbeaten boxer retiring after his first loss.. I felt he could have stayed and won titles the year after to prove a point.

I didnt like the way Pep treated Tito and tried to use the issue against the club. Think he did this to cover for going back on promise not to go for Barca players.

Dont like a lot of his antics at Bayern....way he talks about players, the way he treated medical staff etc countless times, the way he announced going to City half way through a season.

Just think he is a bit of an arse. Maybe thats part of his genius and he is a genius.

Would cheer him on an welcome him back at Barca any day though. Its easier to take him beimg like that when it benefits the club you follow!

Those tears or whatever that was looked damn fake too. Lahm letting pep lift the trophy as if it took a genius to beat Dortmund after 120 mins. or win Bayernliga is also fake as hell. But then again Lahm is a murky character to begin with leaking the team (he is captain of) information to press.
One gets an impression that pep coached Mainz to domestic success, not Bayern.

But hey, let them have their fake fun.

6 Ballons for Messi

but what if he wins 7??

I think you guys are making stuff up, didn't he leave because the pressure was too much and he wanted a break? Also as bojan said, he never planned to stay long.

You just threw a fit but didn't explain why you feel the way you do.
You said you can see him for who he truly is, what don't you like about him?

He is a very good manager, yes, one of the best but I don't like what you said, that he is the best in the world and he is genius etc.

I said earlier that I don't like him because he is ... as someone said, kind of a prick.

You can't tell ppl hate who or not, but imo starting to 'hate' one of barca legends is somehow irrational a bit, at least to 'dislike' him seems more like reasonable but hatin' come on ...
No one is perfect, nor pep or anyone else, i think its better not to focus on his behaviors that much, like that ' oh he should've done it this way, oh why he's done that way and so on ' .
But im sure all barca fans would not wish him best against us, barca > all.

Everyone loved pep at Barca and noone wanted him gone in 2012. Still, he left to chase his personal glory. Just like he said he will be gone after few sesons and won't become Barca's Ferguson. And fair play to him and we are all thankful for what he did here.

But don't expect me to cheer for Bayern (our biggest European rivals) or Shitty.

It's like you have that girlfriend you loved and she leaves you. Some of you can watch her bang other dudes and be happy for her.
Well, call me crazy, I won't be happy for her.

Bojan, I agree everything else except the part about Guardiola leaving us to chase his personal glory. I think it was pretty well-known and clear that he did not see eye to eye with Rosell-Bartomeu and he felt he was out of ideas to get our team further ahead. According to "Pep Confidential" his last season with us he was really suffering.

It's a perfect excuse mate. Perfect. Rosell bent over backwards to keep him. To the point pep got and publicly said Rosell wouldn't leave him alone after he left.
Besides, pep said himself he couldn't motivate the players anymore.

Anyway, this has been chewed countless times already.
No sense in convincing anyone who to cheer for or not.

I hoped so, just like everyone. I knew what he said about not staying for long but many of us thought of it (and his year to year renewals) as a tactic to keep the squad motivated.
