How a welding torch full of comercials is "better for the fans" than actually only the pitch being visible during games? Are those fans edgy teenagers with the attentionspan of 2 seconds or actuall football fans?
Yes, you want to see replays but 3 huge screens are already too much for that since you will have internet so you can turn on your phone on your tv station to watch replays if let's say a huge screen is too little.

I hope not or at least they switch it fully on only after the football stopped. But they can put other things later like a retractable roof of tarp on the german model

In truth, the new stadium is not nearly as high-tech as Madrid's. But it is considerably bigger and also better looking imo.

A lot will depend on how well the roof is constructed. It doesn't have to be fully covered at all, looking at Barcelona weather. 360 huge screens are not suitable for a lightweight roof like the one Camp Nou is gonna have. It's much more a question of added weight than cost.

Based on online sources, the roof is gonna be mostly built using tensile-structure architecture. With cables, some light steel beams in some key areas, and generally using lightweight materials. It's not gonna be a mall-style stadium like some of the others in Europe (with huge metal and concrete structures). The cost of a full-on metal roof would have been insane looking at the size of the thing. Would have nearly doubled the price probably.

It's probably wise the route Laporta has taken. Once the new structure is there, additional improvements can take place in a better financial 10-20 years down the line.

We're not really in the position to have an extreme rebuild with extravagant cost like state owned clubs such as City and Real Madrid.

It's not needed anyways apart from: "see how cool it looks". It's too high for cameras to get good revenue on adds and people in the stadium will rather get distracted.

Madrid's high-tech is pretty bad so far. They've changed their pitch like 4-5 times last year because the grass didn't grow as anticipated in their high tech basement. Also their stadium looks like a spaceship pressed in between an old city. The look doesn't match it's surroundings at all. While our stadium has the colloseum look from outside, that matches perfectly with the city skyline.
Our design won the international architecture award for a reason.
