VIP and 3rd ring will use the new structure for almost all of their weight distribution anyway.

Sounds like complete bullshit to me.
Exactly. First two tiers don't take any of the structural load of the upper tiers.

One of the things actually I like in stadium's design. It's spacy, rows are wide. It's beautiful like an amphitheatre.

Literally one of the reasons everything is delayed is because of the reinforcement work theu did to ensure the 3rd tier is secure lol.

The first two tiers won't be holding much of the load.

Almost none of it in fact. Even big sections from 2nd tier are new.

Basically the only somewhat problematic old structure is the inferior half of the 2nd tier, the part that is hanging above 1st tier with that old style and that deeply receded structure.

I'm sure most work for reinforcing the old concrete was put in there.

He probably asked every worker on the construction site until he found a Real Madrid fan and asked his opinion about the stadium
Clickbait journalism. Took some opinions from 2 years ago and rebranded them as "my intel sources". Indeed questions were raised why the first two tiers weren't demolished. Barca told the concrete structure was sound, others thought it's to save cost and time.

And there is also the reputation risk. Limak would never have taken this contract on, risking their reputation with this project, if the old stands would be rotten in 10 years.
Limak doesn't make any money out of this. They simply took the project as a new construction company to place their name in Europe. Not one spanish construction company wanted to take the job with the guaranteed cost limit. Limak doesn't care about money, but about reputation here.

You meant Limak are willing to compromise, because this is Camp Nou. Otherwise it sounds they work pro-bono on the project. Limak will profit from the whole thing. Additionally the delay clause was never executed, the club saying it's Catalan laws, not Limak's fault. To cite the "journalists" - neighbours complained about the noise from 24/7 work on the stadium.

It is a stinking pile of bullshit. The editor works with Marca and El Mundo, also known as El Florentino Perez, who publish daily new Negreira news.

edit: Just browsing through his articles, they're all full of barca negative stories and more bullshit. Where the hell do you look for Barca related news.....

The first two tiers will hold none of the weight, just take a 5 second look at the structural drawing of the stadium, is has been posted somewhere in this thread. The third tier and the roof is supported by 2 rows of gigantic columns that goes all the way from the basement up to the roof line. They are several meters thick. This Malo dude is just another crypto-madridista, FC Barcelona is absolutely overloaded with them. We found out who most of them are back in 2008-09 season when no amount of pretending was enough and they all embarrassed themselves one after another.

There you go, the new structure is entirely self supported by steel columns encased in concrete, the old structure has nothing to do with the new one, yes it require extensive rebuilding due to almost 70 years of deterioration but that was well known for the last 25 years. In fact it was already known from core sampling of the concrete structure going back to the 1990s and even the 1982 stadium expansion project.
