Casemiro

What an absolute baller move by Madrid. This is the kind of move that indicates how well Madrid is being run right now. Perez is a machine.

I think this is the absolute perfect time for them to sell Casemiro. Getting old, have already bought some replacements, a team coming in with a crazy offer. People will say he is still important to them and yes, I agree. He is still important to them. But you sell just before someone starts going downhill; once he does start going downhill you're going to get nothing for him.

This is the exact kind of thing Barca would NEVER do. Just look at the very similar comparison - Busquets. We would have held on to CAsemiro as the best DM in the world, given him a contract till he's 35, and been stuck with him in a declining team.

I just cannot get over how good Madrid is run right now. And yes, I agree, in the short term this is good news for us, they are weaker without him. But damn, if they continue being run this well, that's not great news big picture. Especially when we are the worlds biggest laughing stock in terms of how the club is being run.

Perfectly said.
Perez 8s just another level. He is the Don and noone fucks with him. Contrast that with our clown presidents. If you put Perez at the helm in Barca he would change everything. The man is ruthless and takes no shit.

After that first debacle against Roma he would have kicked out amigos maybe Messi even. Us Barca fans have had to suffer instead.
Watching Tchoumani and Camavinga today it's obvious the duo should develop into some very good players.

Moaning somebody is an ass when ridiculously laughing at a reasonable opinion.

Simply indefensible take is all.
2016 he played his first season as a starter which is your chosen reference point for him last being best in the world. Wasn?t even best at the time, likes of Gabi were
Meanwhile Casemiro is the best defensive holding mid and couldn?t name one that can be relied upon in big games more than him with better teams struggling to fill that position for years now since likes of Kante moved further upfield

Nowhere near finished and would get into any top side playing with a DM

Nothing indefensible in claiming he is not near the tag "best DM in the world" today, in 2022

As for the rest, Kante was always a tier above for me as DM

He's not finished Birdy lol. Give this one up.

We will see about that Horatio
Some thought Varane and Ramos were not finished when they were transferred out of RM.
What do you say today? Are they not?

Ramos ain't finished. Neither is Varane. Latter is just playing in a godawful team. Everyone would suffer.

Ramos was available for a few games only in 21/22.
Availability due to injuries is also a part of the decline of a player...

Was Perez vindicated or not to not give him a new contract???
Reality is ruthless, and so a board must be when dealing with physical decline of players

Yes, Ramos was available for a few games due to an injury. But let's see how he fares this season before we conclude it was a career-ending one.
We are still giving Dembele chances after all.

Dembele is 24 yrs old
Not comparable at all

But older players can also recover from an injury like Ramos'. You could argue Dembele seems more injury prone to Ramos.
Point is too soon to write off Ramos and think he will get an injury now every other week.

To be fair, Ramos is 36 and had 11 injuries in the last two years so he's definitely on the wrong side of the hill now.

Yes, he had that much.

Inherent injury-proneness (Dembele for instance) is different from injury-proneness due to physical decline.
The latter is irreversible.
Your body starts to break down at some point, and if you have many kms registered in your career (like Ramos) it happen suddenly when you reach certain age
