It's gonna be hard and tiring for us to face Bilbao and Atletico within just 3 days. Messi should not play full 90 mins or not start the game against Bilbao so he will be 100% against Atletico.

I wondered if Lucho would take a more pragmatic approach like against Asspanyol and he did - two great goals out of nothing and even could've had a couple more really. But the team suffered in that 2nd half so tactically he didn't get it entirely right, IMHO, as the subs served to give the Basque side more opportunities as the match went on

But, we are suffering from depth issues atm so a pragmatic approach was logical - did not expect a win like that though...2-0 would've been sublime but I'd have taken 2-1 from the outset as well

I didn't watch the game but good result from the first match without Suarez and Messi.. Munir has now scored 5 goals in Copa already and I doubt this was the last one.. Too bad for the late goal but I don't think we should have any problems in the second match at Camp Nou.. Semi-finals here we come! Visca!

Last nights result will allow us to rest some players ahead of the the atletico clash. Atletico will have to play a full strenght team in the copa against Celta Vigo as the tie is 0-0 so they are in the same boat as us really.

We still need to completely kill off the tie by halftime in the camp nou.

Yea, can't undestand the reactions of surprise that we won. We played against Bilbao, not against Bayern in Germany.

In many ways it's harder for Barca to play domestic teams as they know how to play us and they are often backed by refs.
It's been proven year after year.

Still, this Bilbao team is not that special. At the end of the day, the gap in quality is decisive most of the time. There are 4-5 teams in La Liga currently that are better than Bilbao by a margin, not counting Barcelona.

Atlético has to play Celta in Copa. And that tie is wide open.

He's talking about the Atletico game in La Liga following up on the Athletic game in CDR.
Or do you mean that they have a bigger hurdle to endure than us?

This was a good result all things considered. The cushion will be there in the next game at the Camp Nou, where they will need atleast two goals, and its been over 10 years since a Bilbao side has accomplished that. Fully expect Barcelona to go through onto the semi-finals:barcascarf:

I would say at this point it's Neymar who needs the rest. Messi can plod along and relax when there's no action or if it's a non-event. Plus, Atleti's tie is a lot more up in the air than ours so it's not as if they'll be 100% themselves.
