A wonderful history, but what future? In a globalised world the backwaters of Scottish football are becoming ever more irrelevant. That's not Celtic's fault, big clubs in small leagues throughout Europe are seeing their star wane because the lack of competition within their domestic league means they can't gain the income of clubs in bigger leagues. Clubs such as Celtic, Rangers, Ajax, PSV, Anderlecht et al need a European superleague to have a chance of ever returning to the top of the game.
