Barca have too many cooks, and the league they play in all condense space when they play them.

He was like that for arsenal as well. The pl suits him better. Most here knew he'd shine there right away... I don't get why some seem surprised.

And Cesc asked to go, no one got rid of him.

He's actually playing HIS position. He is a CM. He played his best at Arsenal and now at Chelsea at CM.

He did play cm for Barça. He was moved around because he didn't do well there. He does better at chelsea, and did better for arsenal because those systems suit him. The pl suits him. The way Barça played didn't suit him. It's not realy that complicated. Barça was never going to be build around Cesc, that's pretty obvious.

Very good comment. Most of the time we played Cesc in midfield, Xavi played too. It was usually a variation a 3-4-3 in Pep's time, with Xavi as CM and Fabregas higher up the pitch (sort of where Messi is often spoted playing now). That was what happened, not that Cesc was played as a CM and played badly, as it has been suggested. Xavi was the CM of this team in Cesc's time here.

Xavi was already declining, and with his chronic tendinitis. And yet Cesc didn't perform better than him. Cesc was played as cm, and wasn't good enough. He is not a conductor like Xavi, anyway. He plays better in a direct setup, and Barça was never gonna change style to suit Cesc.

Xavi is not playing for Spain anymore and Cesc still looks average for them there and is being surpassed by Koke, Isco and others. That says it all really, but people are for some reason hell bent on proving otherwise even though there is more than enough evidence to suggest that Cesc was never and will never be a good fit.

Also, they conveniently disregard Cesc pushed hard to leave. Asked for haste to be sold. Jumped ship again. Thiago is called a traitor for way less. Cesc is much more of a traitor, and a mercenary. Signing for Chelsea is proof of that.

For all the glory hunting pig that Thiago is... Cesc is far more. It has always been the case! Stupid board had to buy him back for their political gains!!

Not really glory hunting, he's just gone where he's more valued and regularly played in his favoured position. Nothing wrong with his move, I mean, it's not like a move to Liverpool or something would be a good choice. If you had the choice, of course you'd pick a better club. It's like Pep going to Bayern, he could have gone to a big club in a bit of trouble but he ended up going where a team was already well on the way to being super dominant.

Yeah, it's not like he had a story with arsenal... It's his right, ofc, but it doesn't change what he always was, a traitor. There's no loyalty in him, never was. I remember an interview where he said he'd play for rm, and that his family would understand if he did. That's who he is.

Didn't Wenger snub him? What's he supposed to do? Stay at Barca where he'll never play a major role and where he is hated by the fans?
