Speaking of how they bought the sport's centre? Or their status during the dictatorship?

There's some controversy about how much help they got during the Franco years, but then again their president used to fight for Franco... And they were a small-ish team before he came to the throne. Still, there's claims that Franco supported Atletico.

Ehm... Small-ish ???? lol
We won our first title (the cup back than there was no league ) 3 years after our foundation , won the first Copa del rey 4 consecutive times
we came second in the first league and won two leagues in a row after it...
lol
And the sports center was not bought or aided by the government (Even UEFA investigated this after some club complained :pep: ) , it was bought by 3 construction companies nothing to do with the Government here only thing the "City of Madrid " allowed us it to change the area permit from sports to commercial the same thing General Franco gave you when you built Camp Nou
Atletico was Franco team (the Airforce team ) till we found European success

Debatable. What about the CL? I'm not saying Franco doesn't have a part in Madrid's history, he sure does and there's no denying he did have. At least while he was in power, which was until 1975. But how does that relate to our history and success in the CL?

*cough* Di Stefano *cough*

And yes, I know that Barca could have had him every other year but refused

You weren't much of a club after the civil war, that's what I meant. Franco seems to have supported atletico avion at first and then started supporting RM more (can't know for sure obviously).

Man you should read more about your competition
Real Madrid was full of leftist and we had more club men died and disappeared due to our stance against Franco but in no way we were smallish
yes Valencia , Atletico Madrid (airforce club was their name back than ) & Barca had the lion share of wins in the first 15 years under Franco but we still managed (in the first 15 years under Franco ) two CDR cups , came runner up twice
In the league we came second twice and won two leagues towards the end of the first 15 years

Makes you wonder the validity of Franco being Real Madrid fan :pep:

No it's called a dip in form like your 5 year ... smallish is when you have no history not a big club that was destroyed by the war who has history before & after the war ;)

Shakhtar winning there first game in the Chelsea/Juve group too, i think an upset is on the cards with Shakhtar making it through with one of Juve/Chelsea

Ok. So after almost an hour of googling I finally give up. Can someone tell me what is the mathematic minimum number of points for a team to ensure their progression to knock-out-stages? I know that 10 points are often thought to be the "magic number" but it isn't the mathematical limit.
