Mourinho has made it acceptable to talk complete and utter shite and not be frowned upon. Nowadays when you talk out of your arse nobody cares.

Holy shit, the idiot actually said that!
That's some kind of Mou-like stupidity right there. Pathetic stuff from a player I actually used to respect quite a bit.

Same here. It's baffling some think Barça was favoured in this tie. Not only a penalty and a legit goal, Lescott "hugged" Messi to stop a counter, no yellow card. If the complaints are about the red cards, I don't get it either, as they were deserved.

People don't seem to get that playing physical or cynical football against Barcelona as a tactic comes with the risk of cards, as Barça players are among the best in the world at defending the ball. That some refs will "let the game flow" despite Hack-A-Leo/Neymar/Andres tactics does not guarantee it's a sure thing. It's no accident that such tactics result in sending-offs, and no one should be surprised that Barça will end some games with an extra player. This is entirely due to how the opposition chooses to play, not some "inexplicable" refereeing decisions. Whatever the justice of any specific refereeing decision, consistent cynical play as a tactic is the underlying cause.

I understand why some teams feel they can't play an open game against Barça and choose a cynical approach. Because of Barça's quality, they are caught between a rock and a hard place. However, they shouldn't moan when their negative tactics result in cards; they've dug their own grave.

We can only hope for Bayern-RM, so that the road to the title would require defeating only one of these big boys.

The easiest draws by far will be against the survivor of Olympiacos/Man U or against Galatasary if they go through. Every other draw will be tough, there will be either 6 or 7 excellent teams in this final 8. Losing to any of those 6 or 7 would be no disgrace for any team in this field.

I hope Barca meets Dortmund in some round. The world needs to see these two match up, preferably over two legs.

I see 6 or 7 of the final 8 as having realistic chances of winning this tournament. OK, on current form Bayern has to have the best shot, but I would rate their chances no better than 40%. Barca has at least as good a chance as anyone else.

Every team left fears Barca, even though every team thinks they have some advantages over Barca. Barca has:
The best shooter, who is also the best dribbler and goal creator.
The three best dribblers. Yes, Iniesta and Neymar are that good.
The best keeper.
The quickest LB.
Despite not having the best field defenders, a resilient defense against even the very best attacking teams.
The best passing.
No weak spots in the starting 11.
A team of winners.

With all due respect, Bayern does not fear the team they beat 0-7 under a year ago, and who has not improved. We actually concede most on set pieces in la liga dont we? And a defense of Alves masch and alba lacks physicality. I cant really see why real, dortmund and chelski should fear us either. We have qualities, yes, and the best player ever, but too many disadvantages to go through. That being said: messi is back! That give us hope.

No keeper has played better than Valdes this year, all in all. Nothing against Neuer, fine keeper, he is great going into traffic on corners. Valdes is a real hero one on one, and he distributes the ball better than any other keeper.

The key play for Barca winning the CL this year could be a foul against Neymar. No one is better at drawing the foul.

Just watched Schweinsteiger's goal against Arsenal. Horrible defending by Arsenal central midfielders, looked to be Carzola most at fault. Schweinsteiger just ran straight up the middle into the box, unmarked, an easy target for Ribery's pass. He even had time to settle the ball before shooting.

The quarter-final ties involving the eight winners from the UEFA Champions League round of 16 will be determined by an open draw. At this stage of the competition, no teams are seeded and clubs from the same national association may be drawn against each other.
