I think Xabi Alonso's suspension is a HUGE blow for Real. Think about how shit Bayern's defense look without the double pivot of Schweinsteiger Martinez. They protected the back 4 last season. Xabi Alonso is the key for Real Madrid and the only player who can play that role is Khedira. Granted, they'll be playing a defensive team, they'll still be vulnerable on the counter.

Xabi alonso will be useless against Chelsea's bus. I don't think its a big loss if Chelsea qualifies.

It wasn't swiss cheese. Chelsea had like 3 shots in two games. Inter didn't even have 1 shot on target on Camp Nou. With Pep, whenever we lost we lost because we wasted too many clear chances to score. With Pique and Puyol we had a pretty good defence during Pep's time.
