I didn't see their first meeting this season, but as far as I recall the draw at the Calderón, it was pretty even, perhaps even in favor of RM. I guess we saw the CdR tie differently, because what I saw, was a RM team that absolutely battered AM in the first match. Anyhow, hopefully I was drunk or whatnot, and in any case, I do like your view on the matter. As I see it, Los Merengues are clear favorites for the crown, but I'd love to be pleasantly surprised.

Well they also lost to Osasuna 3:0 around that time so i don´t think the CDR tie says that much.

Atleti got nothing to lose, Real will be under pressure to deliver their much awaited La Decima. While Ancelotti is an excellent manager, so is Simeone and Atletico will be pumped up and ready for the challenge and hopefully go out as the champions of europe.

Unfortunately, the Atleti players don't seem to have the imagination/intelligence or creativity to turn this around.

The team is all passion and physical play. Its all due to Simeone who seems to have gotten the best out a group of rather limited players.

well this is awkward

Mou is on course to win NADA for the second season running.

So much for "winning" and "results driven" football.

Even "loser" Wenger may win more than him this season. :xavi:

It's probably 60-40 Real, even though the game will not look like any of the semifinals. Atletico won't defend as poor as Bayern did, and Real won't be as toothless as Chelsea was tonight. But maybe this is Atletico's golden year, like 2004 was for Greece.

Real Madrid and Atlético have met 5 times in a final: Atlético won 4 (last time in Copa del Rey final 2013) and Real Madrid won 1. [as]

Bad comparison.Greece lucked out in three games, playing ultra defensive football.Atletico are playing great football all season long, and completely outplayed both Barca and Chelsea.

Nothing lucky or golden or whatever being 2 wins from primera in this era of Barca/Real and going into the champions league final undefeated.

They were both underdogs at the beginning of the tournaments. That's enough for a comparison. No one thought Atletico will eliminate Barcelona and play the CL final. It was the same with Greece -- when people took them seriously it was too late.
