I was saying for Months that (imo) there is no way that a Pep's team can win a CL after 2011.

His style is so fckng outdated, and he doesn't get it.
Sadly, probably 80% of this forum also doesn't get how Pep's style is NOT the way to go in a CL knockout matches.

In short:
That style is awesome for La Liga, Bundesliga and EPL where majority of matches are against Getafe, Las Palmas, West Ham and Stoke.
Pep's style is a GOAT style for league competitions and for breaking records in league competitions.

In a CL, Pep and Barca past 2011:
Barca defeated before a final in:
2012
2013
2014
2016
2017

Pep knocked out before a final after 2011:
Barca 2012
Bayern 3 years
City 2 years

Barca and Pep together reached only 1 CL final after 2011, in 11 attempts (Barca 6 attempts, Pep 6 attempts, but 1 of them was with Barca).

People need to realize and distinguish:
1. there is a winning formula for a league competition=Pep's style
2. there is a winning formula for a CL, past 2011=technique+a lot of physique and a tactics which requires 2-3 different styles like shortpassing, crosses, longballs, counters, corners and similar, unlike Pep's style=shortpasses with physically weak players and no plan B.

This is NOT an attack on Barca's legacy.
This is a lesson how football is evolving and this naive style is not working in a CL anymore.
Pep will never learn, we all know that, let's just hope that more guys on this forum will slowly accept this.

Luckily, EV knows this and we are with huge chances in a CL.

Every coach has his tactical weak spot(s). If you happen to run into teams able and willing to exploit them at the wrong time then you go out.
On the other hand you can have a lot of luck and win silverware without actually knowing at all what you are doing like Di Matteo in 2012.

Still in order for Pep to really be the considered the very best he should also be able to adapt to such hyperaggressive pressing teams like Liverpool.

Real Madrid will more likely win it b.c they are in great physical form.
