Well at least Ronaldo will play better with benzema in lineup. Zidane has an unusual problem. Benzema as a player is not good but Ronaldo plays better with benzema as a striker. And bale sometimes brings that spark which isco cannot bring. Bale can score a random goal by cutting inside which can turn the match in real's favour. If either of bale or benzema are playing shit if he subs them real are good. But as a Barca fan I hope they don't play well and Zidane doesn't sub them until it is too late. Unlikely though.

It is a myth that Benzema is not good in CL. Has a record of scoring big goals for Madrid. 2 goals vs Bayern this season, goal vs Bayern in the key 1-0 win on Bernabeu in 2014. There you go, 3 Benzema goals when Madrid were in trouble.

We are not talking individuals here, BBC as a unit simply does not work in big games, it will be a disaster if Zidane starts with that line-up.

Bale has been in fantastic form recently. He will surely start.

This won’t be that difficult of a job for Madrid.

Liverpool were playing so called tiki take football at least 15 years before Barcelona. In Fact one of the best flags I ever saw at a game was" was those watching in Black and white Liverpool are the team with the ball" If not for Heysel Liverpool would have won the European cup at least twice more in my opinion

Lots of teams played possession football with passes man. Barca just did it at the highest level compared with the rest. And brought everything, every influence and variation into a complete whole that worked as one well oiled passing machine that you couldn't dominate or outplay.

Tiki taka is just a word that the media used to characterize Spain and Barcelona.

Its interesting how tiki taka-football still works great in league play, but in knockouts of the champions league, teams get exposed for it.

Depends on the team that plays it. It brought Barca and Spain incredible success in knockout competitions. Spain won a World Cup and 2 back to back European Championships based on the Barca possession football and its style, especially the World Cup in 2010 and the Euro 2014. Barca won 2 CLs in 4 seasons and were sent home in the other 2 times because they couldn't convert their chances, something which can't be attributed to the system.

It's true that outside of Barca heavy possession football has failed to produce CL winners though. It's mostly counter attacking football with fast transitions combined with low defensive blocks that brings CL wins. It's a less riskier approach which works best in CL.

It's because national teams are less organized than clubs since the players train together only for a few months.

Spain from 2008 to 2012 didn't have any difficulty to break down parked buses while Barca struggled against Chelsea or Inter for example. And Barca had Messi, so it was clearly a better team.

Yeah, they did have great success in knockouts with that style of play, but thats the past now.
These days, tiki taka is great for leagues, it doesnt seem to work well in knockouts anymore, maybe thats just because no current possession team can match Barca 2009-2012.

Exactly right. The style is hard to pull off without incredible players with insane football IQ.
