I think this is the case. They looked like they were running out of energy. PSG looked very fresh compared to Pool.

Look at their player ratings or their performances. It's quite obvious the whole team over performed last season and were running insanely hot, like PSG now. We will see the real level of Alonso after this season, if he stays.
They aren't this bad but they aren't also as good as they were last season.. somewhere between. Thats probably the truth.
