People here keep saying, oh, but we would make the final if Araujo didn't get the red.
Really? We just watched an arguably EL level side concede 0 goals over two ties to PSG and beat them 3-0 on aggregate whilst we were on ropes for most of the two ties.
Even if we assume we beat PSG without the red, which is not that clear, who says that we beat Dortmund? We weren't good enough at all even for the weak side of the bracket.
Fact the management and club is excusing this is remarkable. We didn't get unlucky as the main reason, as clearly shown, we just weren't good enough to deserve the final over Dortmund.
People act like it is meaningless, but this kind of mentality comes from the top down, you have even seen the players start to repeat the nonsense about how they always get unlucky every game and have been so unlucky not to do better this season. There is some pervasive culture of thinking, in spite of results, we are 'superior' to other teams, and that when we lose, there is never anything we could have done, we are always just unlucky and we always deserve it more.
Is it a surprise why Xavi's knockout record is so poor? He psyches himself out and the players before the matches even start.
How the mighty have fallen.(Grande ETH BTW coached that win, as the imperious away win at Juventus in the QFs)
@Morten
Ajax in 2019 won away 1-4 in a return leg to eliminate madrid

Temptation got banned? Why?
We didn't draw the first game, we actually won it, not exactly helping my case, but the statistic did say "draw".
Anyway, ETH is about to have the worst league finish in terms of points, post Fergie, i believe, great job he is doing.
When is he going to stop being a bum?
Bums are the ones above him right now in the non-existent UTD hierarchy. Rattclife will change that
You should be wondering how a 'bum' according to your logic can humiliate two clubs much bigger, richer than Ajax, while not stealing results, but dominating them?
Maybe because it was the worst RM in a decade, in crisis-mode, and an Ajax team with some really good players?
Christ, you really let one season define a manager, just because you happen to like him.
Time for him to stop coasting of that season, and prove he can still do it.
It's not one season. and it's not only the Madrid game
He coached Ajax for 5 seasons, and created two exceptional teams, the one that reached 2019 CL Semis
was raid of all the best players like FDJ and DE ligt, then created another one that peaked in 21/22, which was then raid of all its best players
See the bigger picture, and stop falling for short-sighted mottos
