Maybe in straight line, but Alba definitely has better agility and acceleration. He was quite disappointing in that PSG game, but he was one of our best players since. I don't have other problems with that lineup, but Alba should be there.

We need height, hence Mathieu over Alba. Mathieu is also a bit better defensively. Alba is better going forward though. Either way you are sacrificing one thing for something else.

I think the 3232 suits us well.
No need to include alves
We can make use of both masche and busi and rotate with samper in the future
Messi can play as an actual 10 so suarez can play as a striker
We can make use of the depth we have in CB's
Guess Rakitic could also play the position of pedro
Only disadvantage would be there is no real space for alba in this line up unless when iniesta is rested

If LE can make the team actually get used to some of his try out tactics, we will also be less predictable in tactic and in whoever plays

The formation they give UEFA before the match isn't always the real formation. Having said that, if I was a manager I'd give them my starting 11 and put them in completely random positions, e.g. keeper as LB just to troll with the opposition. And then in the game they will play their normal positions...

It's not even so much that he is playing Pedro in a different position, but the fact that he has Alba who is in the form of his life on the bench, Rakitic on the bench, Mathieu at LB which failed miserably before and two DMs which failed recently as well.

Needless to say, he's not playing to our strengths with this line-up.

It could work, I can see the logic behind this formation, but if it doesn't I'm with the Lucho out guys, we already tested Busi and Masche together and it didn't work, benching one of our best performers in Alba is also criminal, but I'm staying positive and hoping for another Messi hattrick!
