To continue these trends from the 1990s, remember:

1994: AC Milan win
1995: AC Milan lose, Ajax win
1996: Ajax lose, Juventus win
1997: Juventus lose, Borussia Dortmund win
.
.
.
2008: Manchester United win
2009: ???

Hey man, you can't win 2 in a row! It's against the rules :p

Well guys its almost time. I don't want to talk about tactics or make predictions. I don't want to even think about winning or losing. I just want our team to go out like the warriors we have proven to be this season: to fight for every single ball, to have three guys pressuring every United player with the ball, and play OUR way for 90 minutes so as to be as expressive as ever through our football. I want our coach to stand strong and let the players off the leash tomorrow with just the right amount of tactical preparation. I want Barca to show the world real, passionate, HUMAN football.

brilliant post.

We proved the trend stuff wrong when we knocked Chelsea out, remember Gio's conspiracies?

That would make me a right heathen  Nah, just saying that I don't trust these patterns at all.

LOL ok.

Well. Rio says he's fit. However, Iniesta and Henry haven't talked to the media yet. Perhaps Henry and Iniesta are out while Rio will play? Or is the reverse true: Rio telling Ferguson he's ready when the docs said he isn't while Henriesta haven't said anything because they expect that everyone knows they'll start?

Huh, it was a joke....but the point is that many teams have come close to winning 2 years in a row, only to lose in the final.

Anyway, just watched the preview show on ESPN, and Tommy Smyth picking Man U actually made me feel good. That guy's an idiot.
Also on the show, they said Henry was quite involved in the last kickaround, while Iniesta was kinda off by himself. I don't read too much into it though. Even if we have to rely on Bojan, I'm confident we can create chances. For the first time, I'm feeling really good about this game :004:

Bojan has created more chances per game than Eto'o IMO. It's just that Eto'o finishes while Bojan hasn't. If Bojan comes on, I hope he does convert a chance into a goal.

Edit: Oops... I didn't mean IMO. I meant "From what I've seen"

Right - I'm getting nervous now!!

So, to pass a bit of time I have a suggestion. Write down the team you think will start tonight and then rate each player with a mark out of ten. It is important that you are honest, and as a guideline we will assume that Ronaldo and Messi are each a 10, then compare everyone to them.

I'll go first! :p

Van der Sar 8

No longer at his best, but experienced and still one of the best overall goalkeepers in the world.

John O'shea 7

Good "Squad" player, probably having his best season. Would not be playing if Wes Brown had not been injured.

Rio Ferdinand 8

Good vision and formidable partnership with Vidic.

Nemanja Vidic 9

Fantastic old fashioned central defender and dangerous from set pieces.

Patrice Evra 7

Been hot and cold this season. Will need to be on form tonight to keep Messi quiet!

Anderson 8

Will run tirelessly for the whole match. Has never scored for United - could tonight be the night?

Michael Carrick 8

Under -estimated by a lot of United Fans. Can thread the ball to unlock any defence!

Ryan Giggs 8

His experience will be vital tonight. No longer the flying winger but always seems to have a good game in European games.

Ji Sung Park 7

Will battle away all night keeping the Barca defence busy.

Wayne Rooney 10

For me, he is Uniteds best player. Will give his all for the whole game, will track back and I expect him to score tonight.

Cristiano Ronaldo 10 If he is on form tonight we could be in for a treat! Will probably play as a striker and will be dangerous from free kicks.

Subs

Carlos Tevez 8

Gives 100% every game, and would probably be starting in a lot of teams. Doesn't score enough goals when he starts a game but is a great impact-player. Could turn the game if needed.

Dimitar Berbatov 9

Quality player yet to win over a lot of United fans. Is not a grafter like Rooney and Tevez but has a silky touch and reads the game well. I would expect him to be brought on if it goes into extra time tonight.

Paul Scholes 8

Past his best, but a great passer of the ball and can score vital goals (as Barca know!)

Jonny Evans 7

Dependable cover for Ferdinand or Vidic!

So, there it is. I am sure lots of you will disagree with either the team selection, or the points, but it is my opinion, so let's see yours. Just remember to be honest and don't just list the Barca team and give them all 10 out of 10!! ;)

Go Barca Go

Barca can surely win the champions league if they can focus on their defence ...Manu`s defence is better than Barca`s. But I`m confident that Henry,Etoo,Messi,Xavi n Iniesta will find a way to break down ManU`s defence. So Barca should foucs on their defence or win posession n dont give ManU any chance...GO Barca GO
