Some people act as if starting Alena over Rakitic is some kind of huge gamble and it could cost us the game against such a tough opponent. Lol.
The anti-La Masia rhetoric is always going to be strong but in this case you're really just wrong. Playing Alena in this game would probably improve our midfield, not make us worse. The kid is just spinning his wheels at Barca B for the sake of development anyways, he could easily be a first team player full stop by now.

Basically the only young player suggested that we could start is Alena yet everyone opposed is using words like "Risk" and "Gamble" and are seriously trying to play up how terrifying Olympiacos at home will be as a reason for why we shouldn't use young players. The same people who will probably be in Rakitic's thread trash talking him for passing back for the entirety of the game.
