Until Valverde is gone and some of the seniors too this thread should be alive and well.
Sounds like a waste of time. The only thing which can sack Valverde at this moment is a trophyless campaign or a horrible La Liga start (like falling 10 pts behind first place by Christmas or smth along ths line) next season.
At this point it's not the worst thing ever. Bad next season and Valverde is sacked 100%, good season and we extend our dominance in Spain and possibly lead Madrid into another trophyless season. Maybe the market for managers next season will look better.
Valverde was not sacked this season because on paper it looks good, and the fans in Barcelona are satisfied with a domestic double given that Madrid had a complete mess of a season.
The Barcelona - Madrid rivalry is hugely important in the sackings of managers from these 2 teams. Managers from both teams have been sacked most often when the archrival had great success. This is the common theme in the last 10+ years.
We played a key role in the sacking of at least 4 managers from Madrid in the last 5 years. Ancelotti (we won the treble that year), Benitez (humiliated them at their home while being treble holders), Lopetegui (humiliated them again), Solari (torpedoed their season and broke their confidence, with Ajax finishing the job next season).
At this point only Madrid can literally free us of Valverde, by stopping our firm La Liga dominance. You really want to root for Madrid to escape from Valverde? He isn't worth such an approach.
