That's why we all know Ballon d'Or is not the best indicator for the season best player.

Ronaldo seems to relish the pressure. Nowadays Messi wilts under it.

Would you have fancied Messi or Ronaldo to take that penalty in that situation? I knew Ronaldo would score. If it's Messi he's more likely to miss.

Not saying you will either. I personally think this is more 50-50 than people are willing to admit. Skill gap is not what secures ties, it’s specific mindsets, resilience, this sense of coldness and knowing you can sacrifice the style to take care of business. Barca have been getting better at this, but not 100% convincing. The more “underdogs” (which is loosely applied to teams not expected to advance, either before or after first leg) make it through, the harder it’ll be for Barca, no matter the opponent.

I mean... what the fuck?! That's like the no1 delimitator.

It's not that we don't know what to do, but mainly because we lack the striker to do so. With Suarez ruining every attack we can't get far.

Please... We were clearly playing sit-back-and-score-a-counter approach last year vs Roma with a 4-4-2 flat with a very defensive wide midfielder and an ageing Iniesta on the other side. Almost every other formation we played that season would be better. We are not a defending team and if Atleti can't handle Juve with that approach, there is no way in hell we can.

We won it when we had in-form strikers. If Suarez gets his shit together and finds his killer instinct we got this. Otherwise we are out.

He scored 4 goals total in the CL hasn’t he? I wouldn’t hope for much here. Messi, Dembouz, Vidal, Semedo, Mats & Alba, maybe Arthur (since we don’t know much how he’ll fare). Those are your make or break players in Europe. Just about everyone else is dead weight being carried under duress.

It's also not just about the formation, but the sit back strategy that we used vs Roma needed a player who fast when running with the ball. Despite his stupid mistake for the penalty, A. Correa brought that needed pace that ATM needed. Unfortunately Ernie didn't had one on the bench that night... oh wait....he had freaking Dembele on the bench!!

Well... I was just talking about the faliures of the initial approach.

The subs are just a cherry on top of that... Just waiting for a car to hit you in the middle of a highway lane.

>Look at the idiot football clubs paying millions for skilled players.

>Barca has already almost completely sacrificed their style. Anymore and we would be Atleti 2.0.

In other words Wolfe spouting utter bollocks as usual.

Btw, no problem for Barcelona tomorrow. Lyon is not on a good form. Won't be as easy as City today but i can see 3 or 4 goals shipped.

Maybe Spain's dominance is over, only Barça may be left (let's hope) after tomorrow among final 8. Premier League improving, La Liga declining. Manchester has both teams in CL Quarters, Madrid has none.
