I don't buy this at all. The first leg will determine the tie imo... if we can score at least 2 and keep them from scoring the tie is ours most likely. A bit like vs Bayern 2015.

Would hate to go to anfield first lose by a big score and try and bring it back at home... might work against PSG and Milans but not Liverpool.

A tie is like a 180 mins match with 90 mins a half played one home and the other away, for many players it's usually easier to make a qualification performance at home since most players feel more confortable playing there which is why away goals still value more. Both Barca and Liverpool feel better and play better at home so it is perfectly understandable why return legs at home are prefered by such teams in such instances.

Ofc any scenario is possible but remember PSG remontada, had they won 4-0 at Camp Nou Barca would've never made that epic comeback.
